I think among enthusiasts this is a very popular opinion. But if they do this the GP just won’t come back, the park is dead and needs an eye catching and gimmicky ride to get attendance back up. This is Great American Scream Machine all over again. The fate of the park is resting on this ride, if it’s not flashy enough to catch the attention of the GP it will fail. That’s why the shuttle spinner may be the best option.

There has definitely been a ton of revisionism about Ka over the course of the past year. A lot of people were fairly dismissive of it before it became known that it was going to be removed. Many decried the restraints, complained about the rough ride outside of the first few rows and pointed out that the ride was short and forceless after its admittedly face-melting launch. I'm definitely still in that camp and think they could replace Ka with just about any large-scale coaster and it would be an improvement. If the Mack tower spinner is what they really end up going with, I can't imagine that it won't completely blow Ka out of the water. That being said, Toro is by far the best ride in the park and one of the GOATs at that; with the promised retracking on the horizon, I don't see that changing any time soon.
the same revisionist history happened with both gasm and ka despite them being so important for the park, they weren’t as beloved by enthusiasts while they were around as they were after they were gone

GASM was an important ride no doubt but so much of the glorification came about because of just how bad Green Lantern was. You can criticize GASM all you want for many things but it was definitely unique to Great Adventure. Then it gets replaced by a hand me down relocation with a standard DC theme. Not to mention it hurt like hell. Hopefully the next ride in that plot is something more unique and lets us finally move past GASM just a little bit.

I really did like GASM that much, ain’t revisionism that’s had it at my #1 for so many years lol, but I do honestly raise an eyebrow whenever it gets spoken of that highly by anyone else. I have zero issue with janky rides (usually my favorite kind) and think there’s a distinction between them and rough rides, but I know the vast majority prefer smooth rides. While I wish it hadn’t been scrapped, I would’ve likely been more accepting of losing my #1 if it wasn’t replaced with a hand me down medieval torture device.

I’m not blind to the fact that there are better coasters out there. Steel Vengeance and Fury 325 are clearly better coasters that I’ve been on, but there’s something about imperfect Arrow design that just feels so right to me. I do think Siren’s Curse has the potential to dethrone it.

i’m jealous of you 😭 it seemed like a good ride, i’m a fan of rough rides too.. hell, toro is my #1 lmfao

See, El Toro is the kind of ride where I think my distinction between janky and rough comes into play. I still think it’s a very good ride, but it’s not the best the park currently has to offer in its current state. Incredibly excited about the retrack, long overdue and a sign that SFEC is aware of at least some of legacy SF’s faults when it comes to Great Adventure. I think the biggest difference for me is that the first half of Toro is still really smooth, so it’s pretty jarring going into the second half and having the ride try to destroy itself and take you with it.

I would temper expectations with Siren’s Curse, I have a friend who’s a ride op at Cedar Point (he’s on the millie team). He said it’s a fun ride but it’s being overhyped.

I go back and forth between Toro and SteVe, love both of them. Obviously biased towards Toro because I ride it so often. Think after the retrack it’ll definitely take my top spot again

Coliwood update video; someone in the comments saying they’re hearing rumors that Ragin’ Cajun from SFA may find its way to the old Daredevil Dive plot at SFGAdv. Grain of salt of course, but thought it was interesting.

To be fair, I don’t think the vast majority even know Dark Knight is a wild mouse. I really don’t think it would be much of an issue on that front, but I also hope it’s a somewhat temporary relocation and that the plot in addition to the go karts, slingshot, and 4d theater are used for something more permanent in the future.

The park has already had its experience with an unpopular relocated ride once, I doubt they’d try to do that again unless they’re truly broke and are going through with a relocation because it’d be cheaper than building something new.

Ragin' Cajun is actually a decent ride. The amount of spinning it subjects you to is absolutely insane. I'd be super happy if it's saved and moved to a different park, and Great Adventure makes a lot of sense since it's fairly close and needs to build back up its ride collection.

If Ragin Cajun comes to that plot, I’ll bet they retheme Superman.

If I had my way, they’re paint it sky blue and call it Kitesurfer. With individually colors trains painted to look like kites, and a loose boardwalk/beach theme. The entrance building could even be a kite/gear shop. Bonus points if you find a way to add water under the course.

Ragin Cajun looks like an awesome ride, I’d have no issues with that kind of ride experience.

My concern comes from the fact that SFAs version was built over two decades ago, and has already been relocated once. Having to go through that process a second time would probably make the ride more unenjoyable than it already is, especially when you consider the fact that it’s been at a park notorious for nonexistent maintenance for over a decade.

I’m all for adding more family coasters, I’d just rather something brand new that isn’t going to reach the end of its service life in a couple of years.

I noticed that some of the character signs were missing a few weeks back in the queue…. Not sure if they’re being refurbished or replaced, but it’d be interesting to see it re-themed to something to fit the boardwalk if they keep that there. Me personally, I’d dump the boardwalk and expand the Golden Kingdom using KD’s Jungle-X as inspiration
