I don't know anything about this supposed delay or whatever, but per documention I've seen, the coaster that is/has been in planning is for the Ka site, not the Green Lantern site.
Honestly, good. I know people will complain about whatever goes in Ka’s plot (could be a launched spinning 4d exacoaster and Reddit would still whine), but imo Lantern’s plot is more crucial to take time with as it’s central to the parking lot, and the Boardwalk has been in desperate need of an overhaul for MANY years at this point.

My question is do you think they could pull off the beginning of an overhaul with their 2026 addition? Regardless, I'm really also hoping for a main entrance coaster flyby like gatekeeper and fury... if not the 2026 coaster, definitely the next major coaster.

With DDD, Lantern, Twister, and Parachuter’s Perch gone, they have a lot of land to play with in what will be the main impression of the park from the parking lot. I have no doubt that even if 2026 isn’t going to take much of that space, they have long term plans.

which hence the 3 year plan for that park

Not on Instagram - so I can’t confirm if this is real/this source is reliable - any insight here? Saw this posted on Reddit. (Could just be getting trolled too)

Wouldn’t surprise me at all, when track showed up at Over Texas and not Great Adventure I was already suspicious, if it is the rumored spinner then construction needs to begin soon because of how huge it is. The turnaround was always really quick and somewhat unrealistic. Hoping this means they’ll pivot and delay the Ka replacement and fill in some of the other holes first. If these tariffs are legitimately causing issues though, wouldn’t be surprised if we see a lot of Premiers and B&Ms in the future.

so, what will replace kingda ka, maybe six flags is getting a giga coaster if they ended up getting a b&m instead of a mack rides spinner

Could be, the shuttle was likely chosen because it was a cheaper alternative, if the price isn’t a bonus anymore and they aren’t very far into track production I could definitely see them canceling and going with a different model. All speculation of course though

No, unlike what that grifter Theme Park Brandon will have you thinking….corporate doesn’t care about us and doesn’t regret the decision. They care about what the general public thinks, and the response has been upset but not some travesty. Maybe if TT2 was operating as regularly as it was supposed to there would be regret but that thing still has a lot of downtime.

Based on the information we learned during Investor Day today, SFEC had suggested that the actual cost of producing/procuring the ride hasn't increased much/hasn't been the major source of cost struggles. Rather, they are seeing expense increases in labor, steelwork, electrical trades; things like that that have to do with actually constructing/delivering the ride. In turn, this eats into the cost of the project as a whole.

If the new for 2026 coaster ends up being delayed, my guess is it would be at least partially due to challenges regarding these factors, not necessarily the production of the ride itself. Hopefully this doesn't mean that going forward, we'll see smaller rides or fewer rides to compensate for this spike in costs. Thought this was interesting.

Sort of a soft bump here but…. I was watching a video by Katie’s Coasters from about over a month ago w/ the manager of PR for SFGAdv. He was specific in saying the new 2026 ride will be in the Kingda Ka plot. Do we think the recent news moves that back by a year and we get a package/different ride for 2026 for Lanterns plot? News on this is stagnant so just curious to hear anything new.

It really depends I suppose. Theoretically, with this much supposed planning in place, the ride should have been bought a long time ago. Otherwise, it's a wing it type situation.

Let's say the rumor is true and the ride isn't so much of a problem as install costs, parts costs, etc. If that is really the case, track should be showing up any week and simply being stored by Great Adventure on premise until they figure out what to do next. They're not going to pay storage fees for a year while its delayed.

Either way, I dont see another package coming before the next coaster. They would sooner skip a year of investments.

If the coaster does get pushed back I think it’s more likely we see an aeronautica landing type ride package. A friend of mind works in the industry and used to be one of the main PR guys at Great Adventure. Last time I talked to him he mentioned that being a possibility as they prepare to basically gut the boardwalk. I really don’t know at this point though, that stockholder call was not very encouraging in terms of new investment. If we are getting a coaster next year, shipments should start arriving any day now.
