It's a 426' tall, 126 mph Mack Xtreme spinner shuttle coaster with essentially the same layout as expected (inverted stall launch, twisty-non inverting tower). Two trains.
Sources??
Edit: actually sounds like it could be an awesome ride. Capacity could be an issue but overall, a 400 ft tall extreme spinner sounds absolutely insane.

and I think its going where green lantern used to be (six flags great adventure must be saving the kingda ka lot for a better replacement in 2028)

How would that fit in just the lantern plot? If it's over 400 feet tall with an upside down launch I would think that would require a lot of space. It probably would need to start where the parachutes/twister was an have the tower where the ka tower was.

Lantern and Ka plots are just one big plot now. Plenty of space

It's gonna have to take up both spots. The thing is going to need a hell of a runway.
well, the green lantern spot is a runaway so, you can fit that thing in it (and yes, im talking about the mack spinning tower coaster)

I have to admit, I never heard of a Mack Spinner before this discussion (I know, I'm a "newb"...), so I looked it up, and it looks like a fun ride to me. As I was looking it up, though, I saw a LOT of hate for it on Reddit, mostly from people who just sound way too self-important (when people write things like, "It would be an absolute DISGRACE if they replace Kingda Ka with this ATROCITY," I just can't take them seriously. Like, we're talking about roller coasters here, not human rights. Calm down.)

I do get the concerns about capacity, and having never ridden a Mack Spinner, I don't actually know if they're any good, but at least it's something that the park doesn't already have, so I'd be excited to try it, IF that's what they're building. Hopefully they can figure out a way to manage the capacity issue.

The issue here besides capacity concerns is that KK'S replacement has big shoes to fill. CF also inflated those shoes with all the other removals. Not everyone is a fan of spinning coasters viewing them as a gimmick. I not against spinning but the argument I hear is that the spinning element.is being used to prop up a trackplan that some view as overly simple and not exciting. Personally I don't care for the track plan of this Mack tower spinner. It doesn't help things when.the defenders of this ride name call.anyone with concerns about it. The defenders are no saints.

Lucky enough to have ridden both the Xtreme Spinners (which is what this would be), they are both FANTASTIC rides. The Missouri one was the prototype, so by nature it was a bit 'safer' than the newer one in Belgium- but both are spectacular rides with some amazing moments.

A valid critique of the shuttle model, though, is how linear the layout is; which honestly may not lend itself the best to a spinning coaster design, where banks/curves in the track and differently-weighted cars generate the spinning motion. I suspect there would be the same "spin fin" magnets found on the first launch of Ride to Happiness, where the train gets a little artificial spin boost as it's launching.

As for capacity, "if" (when) Great Adventure gets the shuttle model that's heavily rumored, from what I've gathered, it should feature a double station so one train can load while the other is running the course.

At the end of the day, it's a genuine Stratacoaster-for-Stratacoaster replacement. That alone is pretty remarkable.

I think you hit on most of the critiques. To me, i just dont understand the investment. I can only imagine the spinner layout they could come up with if they made a layout closer to the ground, for a similiar cost. It's not going to replace Kingda Ka or even make it up the full height of the spike, so why not go with something a bit more different.

That's a good point; it really does seem that a spinning coaster would benefit from having a twisty track. I imagine part of the fun of a spinning coaster is getting disoriented, which can't really happen if the track is just a straight line. I still don't have a clear picture in my head of what this ride might look like, but for a spinning coaster, I'd imagine that speed combined with twists and turns might be more important than height.

On the other hand, Wonder Woman (the pendulum ride) is a spinning ride with great height, and it's easily one of my favorite rides in the park. I know a Mack spinner is different sensation, but still... there's potential.

I think the biggest issue that is the underlying factor in all of this is that GAdv hasn't gotten a custom coaster at all since 2006. Most custom coasters take years to plan, and GAdv has really never been considered for anything like that in nearly two decades. Maybe they are throwing in the towel and are allowing Hershey to be the coaster capital of the northeast, who knows.

Every coaster GAdv has recieved since 2006 has either been a relocation or something quick that they got off the shelf (Joker, JDC, Flash, and now this spinner). I wouldn't be surprised if an exact clone of this spinner is added to Magic Mountain to replace Superman.
