Yeah, I have to imagine Green Lantern’s removal was in the works for a while. It was being discussed here a couple weeks prior to Ka, and like I’ve said before, it’s always made sense in my mind as the next coaster to go even with my dislike for it aside. Polarizing for both GP and enthusiasts, one of the oldest coasters in the park (and the only relocated one), and it sat on some of the most valuable land in the park. That plot has been, and can be, so much more.
the horrible layout of that section of the park is one of the main limiting factors as it was.
Even as someone who basically used to spend his summers at the park, Golden Kingdom felt so isolated, almost as if it was barely even part of the same park. The trek to Zumanjaro was awful, and granted there’s not much they could’ve done about that, but putting some flats in Rolling Thunder’s old plot as a Golden Kingdom expansion and moving the entrance to Zumanjaro much further down could’ve done wonders for the area and made that long walk feel like less of a chore.

I never saw the vast majority of Zu’s queue used, as the only time I had more than a 20 min wait was when it had VR, and I have to imagine that’s largely due to the fact that it was just so far away from any other attraction.

that whole side of the park is just three degrees of dead ends. golden kingdom was the worst of it, but El Toro is a long walk too, and even if you take the shorcut path, getting to Medusa from PDC is another long, empty walk. At least that section has the flume and mine train, but now with the skyride gone, getting to anywhere on that end of the park is just a series of dead ends. it sucks how limited they are with space because of the safari, building a better loop from medusa behind el toro to GK would really help the flow of the park.

I would say we’re definitely getting a coaster next year. I don’t know wether or not it’s Ka’s replacement quite yet, that site is still being demoed and doesn’t look anywhere near ready for construction. The appearance of the Green Lantern site makes me think there’s a solid chance 2026 is the Green Lantern replacement and part one of the boardwalk renovation.

Or the KK replacement is going in GL's old spot rather than in KK's former location.

There's zero reason to think Ka's replacement won't open in 2026. Not sure why it's even worth mentioning.
I agree. I believe the reason Six Flags corporate announced some of the new 2026 additions so early, and will uphold their word on this, is to get us all excited for what's to come. They knew this year would be quite a transition for legacy Six Flags parks especially Six Flags Great Adventure. They know the details of the plan they have in place to improve the parks, however we don't. By telling us a small portion of what's to come, helps to solidify loyalty amid the transformative changes that support their long term plan but seem strange or unexpected in the moment.

Great Adventure’s large amount of removals is simply a result of mismanagement and poor maintenance over a long period of time. Obviously it looks bad on paper to the GP or even most enthusiasts, but I’m glad they bit the bullet and went full steam rather than dragging these removals out over the next few seasons.

Most of them were removals that frankly won’t be missed by the majority. Obviously Ka, Skyride, and Parachuter’s Perch are outliers to this, but PP was SBNO and gutted for two years already when it was imploded, Skyride was a victim of the aforementioned subpar maintenance, and Ka may very well have been the most expensive ride to operate in the chain. But that said, Lantern, Cyborg, Twister, DDD, Air Safari, and unfortunately even Zumanjaro (which had its fate tied to Ka anyway) weren’t exactly a draw for most people.

I’m optimistic for the park’s future. El Toro’s retrack is long overdue and will hopefully make it the ride it once was, Flash looks fun as hell, and I can’t wait to see the 2026 addition.

Which is a double edge sword as it invites complacency in management.
Regardless of a high population in the surrounding area, a park still needs to deliver a quality experience to keep patrons coming back. I don't see any investment decline or complacency in Great Adventure's future.

Cyborg was expensive to maintain but it would have gained a lot of attention being right in front of The Flash this season. Better than being SBNO all season in front of your new ride, but I guess the other option would be to invest in a refurb (or rush a replacement in that spot - like a Nebulaz - even if it opened late Spring)

agree 100%. big changes were needed. drastic removals and a restructuring of the park was needed. timing was all bad bc it had them all come down at once, and was made way worse by KK. every other removal that happened wouldn't have crossed over to the GP at all, but KA brought the spotlight on the park and made the other removals look bad as part of a pattern.

ElToroRyan in his new video hinted the replacment "is probably exactly what youre thinking its going to be but you didnt hear it from me" Not saying hes credible but he deffiently was about KA closing long before it happened. So maybe it is a shuttle?

honestly the issue with the mack spinner shuttle concept to me is two-fold. First, the shuttle coaster capacity would be a disaster. Second, the entire concept of a spinning coaster (sorry to any mack lovers out there) is such a dumb gimmick to me to make up for a mediocre shuttle concept to beging with.

Just seems like a lot of money to be spent on a gimmick. If it is true that is. I wonder what the cost is vs. something like Alpenfury which looks amazing.

I can only imagine with the height/etc. that this thing would have to be expensive.
