Yeah, I have to imagine Green Lantern’s removal was in the works for a while. It was being discussed here a couple weeks prior to Ka, and like I’ve said before, it’s always made sense in my mind as the next coaster to go even with my dislike for it aside. Polarizing for both GP and enthusiasts, one of the oldest coasters in the park (and the only relocated one), and it sat on some of the most valuable land in the park. That plot has been, and can be, so much more.
I never saw the vast majority of Zu’s queue used, as the only time I had more than a 20 min wait was when it had VR, and I have to imagine that’s largely due to the fact that it was just so far away from any other attraction.
Even as someone who basically used to spend his summers at the park, Golden Kingdom felt so isolated, almost as if it was barely even part of the same park. The trek to Zumanjaro was awful, and granted there’s not much they could’ve done about that, but putting some flats in Rolling Thunder’s old plot as a Golden Kingdom expansion and moving the entrance to Zumanjaro much further down could’ve done wonders for the area and made that long walk feel like less of a chore.the horrible layout of that section of the park is one of the main limiting factors as it was.
