I getting sick & tired of things that the gp changed, this is why maverick lost its heartland roll, Woody Woodpecker kidzone got replaced (as I wish they could just kept Woody Woodpecker but only replace Barney, an American tail & curious George attractions), some potentially good ip's didnt get rides & maelstrom got replaced by frozen

["You can do it Zachary. Just... don't respond. Responding would require an insane, off-topic tangent. The white flag has already been waved. Responding won't do anyone any good. Just take a deep breath and close the thread. It's the best course of action for everyone involved! Don't get drug into another pitt of mind-numbing dispair. There are better uses of your time! How's your pin collection doing? Have some organizing to do, right? That new Hearthstone expansion just dropped—we can climb some ranks! Just continue with those deep breaths and log off. It's so simple. It's so easy. It's the right thing to do. The post blaming the evil, malevolent GP for the removal of Maverick's heartline roll can't hurt you if you just log off."]

ok, I will delete the comments I made, although you going to miss it more than the bbw comments that mcmehler made

update: I deleted the comments I made, thanks for a wild ride that lasted half hour

hello all, I apologise to the outrage I caused, I guess gotten too stress over the future of great adventure, look, a mack rides spinner have potential if it a full circuit one, but im sorry I caused a outrage by calling gp "the worst kind of people", I quit using this site for a hour, I now understand gp is the reason the industry existed and i can disagree with the masses as that's won't mean much, sorry, please forgive me

I keep thinking back to the what if’s right now, I know it’s useless but man things could have gone differently so many times. What if the merger never went through? What if Top Thrill 2 had been successful? What if they waited one more year? What if they had gone through with the plan to restore Ka. Legitimately this feels like the worst outcome.

I’ve said for a while now that it’s going to be a really cool ride, and one that surprises a lot of people, but too similar to Ka for it’s own good.

The majority of the backlash is over the fact that it’s a shuttle, which is fair to an extent but at the same time if there’s a turntable and it’s consistently reaching that max height (as opposed to Superman at Magic Mountain) does it really matter that much?
Even with a turntable, the capacity won’t match a full circuit. But for the park side of the situation its a feature and not a bug. There is a reason that Lightning Loops and Chiller were dual track shuttles. The thing is with these super record breaking coasters like KK is that they don't attract families. They attract the opposite, rowdy yahoos who create unpleasant atmospheres which drive away families.

During KK's early years it attracted rowdier guests. I remember at park opening it was a stampee of aggressive trashy people, mostly teenagers and young adults jockeying to the front of the crowd while security tried to keep under control. Fights were pretty common, anytime the walkway widen the people at the back of the crowd would rush up the sides and cut back in the front when the midway narrowed. People would even jump on top of and run across walls and tables to just even get one person ahead, it was insane. For a long time I wouldn't go to Ka first at opening because it was such a madhouse.

When KK's popularity declined, there was no longer an opening stampee to it. In a way I don't want to see a new mega record breaking coaster at GAdv to replace KK because it will likely mean a return of nasty rowdy crowds that will reinforce the park's bad reputation as a hangout for lowlifes. The GP for many parks are just normies, but for GAdv the GP often contains a high ratio of trashy people which I don't want to see that ratio increase again.

Anyone else heard the rumor about the park building a hotel on the site of KK's tophat? I heard it but not found much support for it.

I mean sure there’s a likelihood that this happens at first but at the same time what else is the park supposed to do? Great Adventure is a thrill a park, you really can’t change that without redeveloping really the entire park which would take years. Great Adventure needs a new eye catching attraction to bring people back in general, rowdy people are better than no people. I honestly think this will change as Great Adventure becomes more of a resort and prices increase. But this park won’t survive with Toro and Nitro being the only star attractions.

They are in a paradox that is partly created by past management and partly of CF's own doing. It's hard to turn a park into a resort if it has a bad reputation as a hangout for assholes. Some people even believe that GAdv is where Philly and NYC gangs go to fight each other. This isn't my opinion but have heard others express this view.

CF really has their work cut out for them and removing family favorites and installingega thrill rides isn't the best move for transforming the park to be more family friendly. Past management focused too much on thrill seekers who don't spend like families do and it would be a shame if CF repeats the same mistakes of their predecessors which IMHO they are hellbent on doing.

in order to make this mack spinning coaster worked, rework the survey to make it a full circuit and maybe takeover some land that used to be green lantern, the parachutes ride & the twister ride lots

The reason I doubt this is happening is again the turnaround on this project. Similar to Flash this was done extremely last second, hell this time last year Ka was still on track to go through that renovation by 2026. It takes a lot of time to plan something that large, and given how quickly this is all happening I think it’s best for us to temper our expectations

so, the mack spinning coaster was a last second project like flash?

On the topic of manufacturers having waitlists, when's the last time SF planned a ride over the course of several years for GAdv? Joker, JDC, Flash, and this new 2026 coaster (atleast from the vibes I have gotten) all seem to have been bare minimum last minute decisions that that chain put very little thought or care into.

This project is "last-minute" by the standards of this industry. Even if it was initiated the day the merger was finalized, it would still be a tight-timeline project given the expected scale of this attraction.

Just because something is down to the wire though, I don't think it's fair to characterize it as "bare minimum" or having had "very little thought or care." In fact, there are likely increased costs and difficulty onboarded specifically due to the tight timeline in question. It'll be interesting to see what we get delivered on the other side of all of this, but I don't think we should judge them to hard until we see it.

Couldn’t have said it better. I get the capacity concerns, but it’s honestly incredible to me just how against the strata spinner some are. If this was going to ANY other park (assuming it is what we’re looking at for a replacement), thoosies and the GP would collectively be losing their shit at the thought of not only the first strata in 21 years, but a spinning one potentially with inversions.

I also think it’s reasonable to believe that it’ll have dual loading in some way, as it’s not quite as last minute as Flash was, not to mention it’s not another park’s investment that fell through.

Personally I rather have something other than this mega shuttle spinner. I rather have something that is full circuit even if it means a shorter height or reduced speed. Flash has shown that single track shuttles are too low capacity for a park of the size of GAdv. Perhaps a shuttle with an extra large train with 4 person rows and more cars.
