so, in theory: the mack spinning one is son of kingda ka while the supposed intamin one is the new kingda ka like how king island has both the beast & son of beast?

ok here's my guess: boardwalk gonna get split into 3 area: the game side becomes fortune festival (paying homage to the old fortune festival that Warner LeRoy built), the 4 tents becomes part of dream street with boardwalk Game Center becomes a store again (arcade moved to fortune street) and the red tent becomes a shop with a coke freestyle shop & the superman & go kart side become the new golden kingdom with superman renamed after a flying bird while go karts, right stuff and dare devil dive gets replaced by a new coaster (or another dark ride (but its has to be a water dark ride) in the old right stuff and go karts replaced by flat rides with a new coaster still going in dare devil dive site)

There is no Intamin one, there is just whoever has the contract for whatever SGFADV 2026 is.
What are the chances of it being a B&M Giga? Also, weren't there rumblings or something like that happening where the stadium is/was by Medusa? Didn't they start clearing land the around there before Selim axed it?

I guess yeah, but I guess that b&m giga did end up going to another park if cedar fair merged with six flags

So right now I am leaning towards no. It appears as though this new addition is being fast tracked to open in 2026. In my opinion that’s a bad thing. I don’t think they really have enough time to prepare for such a massive attraction. This to me screams an off the shelf ride model ready to go, just needs to be fabricated and put together.

Enter the Mack Shuttle.

The other issue is the park specifically stated it’s a launch coaster.

The only other possibility in my mind is the 2026 addition is actually Green Lantern’s replacement and they’re taking their time to replace Ka (then I can definitely see a giga).

The spinner when first revealed was well received, it wasn’t until we knew it was the potential Ka replacement that the backlash started coming in. By that time I think the damage was already done and they were already committed to the spinner.

I could be totally wrong but the turnaround on this feels too quick for my liking. Volcano’s plot sat empty for a while, as much as it hurts to see I almost feel that this should be a project that is worked on for quite some time and not rushed to be ready for 2026. I’m pretty indifferent to the shuttle right now, not my first choice but with what we know right now it’s not the worst option. Something tall needs to go in that spot, a premier like Alpenfury just doesn’t cut it.

and I also blame the gp, which are in my opinion the worst kind of people next to test audiences

... what...? Blame them for what, exactly? Responding to a survey by letting a park know what's exciting to them...? What is their wrongdoing, liking something you don't? These "worst kind of people" are the only reason this industry exists—they're the only reason any coaster ever gets built.

You can disagree with the masses—it won't mean much, but you can do so. Condemning them though because your tastes don't align? Insane behavior.

because they voted a replacement that will replace kingda ka, because we deserved so much better than the mack spinning shuttle coaster
They didn’t vote on anything, if you think the GP even knew the survey existed you’re so far off the mark. Six Flags also released the survey before Ka closed.

Like it or not Great Adventure NEEDS a ride to draw people back, no ride will be as effective as Ka but the spinner certainly does the job. You almost need a gimmicky ride to replace Ka.

So yes, you think they're the "worst kind of people" because at least some of them likely responded positively to a survey question about *checks notes* a 400 foot tall, multi-launched, Mack Xtreme spinner with an inverted-fucking-launched-stall.

Maybe—just maybe—there are actually a whole lot of normal, well-adjusted, not-terminally-online, grass-touching-type folks—you know, the folks parks are ACTUALLY DESIGNED FOR—who like a—again, just want to get this firmly on the record—400 foot tall, multi-launched, Mack Xtreme spinner with an inverted-fucking-launched-stall.

I've made the case before that the Shuttle Strata Spinner is a very, very appropriate replacement for Ka, but even disregarding that, you don't get to condemn the masses for wanting what they want.

I’ve said for a while now that it’s going to be a really cool ride, and one that surprises a lot of people, but too similar to Ka for it’s own good.

The majority of the backlash is over the fact that it’s a shuttle, which is fair to an extent but at the same time if there’s a turntable and it’s consistently reaching that max height (as opposed to Superman at Magic Mountain) does it really matter that much?

but the backlash over that concept

A few emotionally distraught thoosies, who are mourning Ka and who are upset over a ride type that they may or may not have ever ridden, are objecting to one gimmick being replaced by another. That is not an excuse for calling those with a different opinion “the worst kind of people next to test audiences.” As you appear to be one of those thoosies, who don’t want the spinner, citing “the backlash” as a justification for your naked attack appears to be a cover for saying that you don’t like them for disagreeing with you.

In which came entirely from thoosies who were too hurt by the idea that anything could ever replace Ka. But the idea itself is actually really cool and gimmicky—and cool and gimmicky is what the general public EATS up. That’s why we’re seeing rides like B&M dives, Vekoma tilts, and swing launched attractions being a thing. Because the general public looks at that and goes “whoa! That looks awesome!” Having a 400 foot tall, multi-launched, Mack Xtreme spinner with an inverted-fucking-launched-stall is exactly the cool and gimmicky thing that the general public will eat up, as well as some thoosies—because you literally will have never seen something like that before and would be unique not just to great adventure but the entire world. The only concern I have is capacity, but I’d hazard a guess that they will have worked that into the ride already, due to the sheer size of the ride.

Not only that but so many of them were the same people who consistently made fun of Ka and said it was the lesser of the two stratas. I’m upset about losing Ka, the way they went about it, and how little thought seemed to be put into the decision, and I’m still not convinced they really considered how much that ride helped draw people to the park, but getting mad at GP for this is beyond me.

All I personally want is to see the Golden Kingdom once again become the best area of the park, it’s been so many years since it last reached it’s full potential.

Occasionally you encounter an L online so defiant, you need to simply take a step back and admire it in all of its unholy glory. Never change @harry580, never change.

Again in logistical terms, the B&M Giga contract is already at SFOT for 2026. Imagine Clermont putting out TWO giga's for Spring 2026, that would truly be something. 😜

Apparently they were talking about something at the stadium site during the Mike Spanos regime, he simply wanted a big boy attraction for the park's 50th anniversary. I've heard conflicting details but everyone knowledgeable at the time seemed to agree that it would've had two across trains for some reason (as B&M has said, if you're buying we're selling!). Selim took the helm and wiped it at a critical stage, or so the story goes.
