Recreation of the 200 foot version proposed for kings island. Imagine this but twice as tall and probably faster. Ngl the hang time would be incredible

Add in maybe like a layout similar to say Time Traveler or Ride to Happiness before the tower and yeah, I could live with it

Eltororyan specifically mentioned it as a shuttle. I am hope a layout extension is possible, but if it’s a set date already, probably not. this is what replaces ka though, imagine if they work in a drop tower like zumanjaro into it? You see the coaster wrap around your drop tower car before plunging? Would be incredible. Prob impossible too though.

at least have it spin around and come down and do a similar drop and stall down the tower

You can still have it be a shuttle and have a compact layout. Vekoma Super Boomerang for example

Puts flame suit, I am not impressed by the pictures I seen of jungle expedition. Seems like people use it as copium for CF's historical tendency to destroy the character of the parks they acquire.
The last time I had gone to KD before 2021 was 2011. KD had a reputation among my family as the cheaper and quicker park, while Busch was something you planned for and got really excited about. I still feel that way about Busch, but KD was absolutely night and day between 2011 and 2021. And it's only gotten better since. Jungle X is awesome, and KD has some of the most character in the Cedar Fair chain. I'd argue the entire chain has more character than you're giving it credit for. Stupid, short sighted thing to say when you're going off of pictures and not your actual experience.

Do want to mention that Airtime Thrills said that S&S employees came out to ride Ka, and there was that other redditor who claimed intamin had booked a flight to see Ka….plus they’ve been REALLY weird about their phrasing the entire time. The initial report and every email they’ve sent out says the ride is being “retired.” Not gonna lie I don’t know if they have a firm plan here, it’s possible they’re still weighing options on what to do with Ka and the extreme spinner is the backup plan should all else fail. They know it’s a launch coaster but past that…. I bet they threw this in there to trying and prevent media backlash

Just my opinion , but that ride would easily be a contender for best in the world.

An excellent coaster coming next year, and one of the best in the world coming the year after that. I think most people are probably jealous of Great Adventure, not feeling sorry for it.

The problem is that GAdv has been hemorrhaging rides over the last 25 years, especially during the Shapiro years. For every new ride they put in they usually rip out 3 to 5 older ones. Moreover, its usually been a high thrill coaster replacing several mid level family rides. Sadly CF is continuing this tradition of their predecessors like Shapiro. Instead of this proposed new coaster, I rather see 5 new quality non coaster family rides. The park is near an extreme dichotomy of big coasters and little kiddie rides with near zero middle rides. Next year GAdv will be 4 rides closer to zero middle rides. Personally, I rather see a scenic narrow gauge train ride installed in the vacant spot with a couple of modern flat rides as opposed to yet another low capacity gimmick coaster.

Nah I’m sorry, you cannot in any universe replace the tallest and fastest roller coaster with family rides.

I would actually agree with this, they need capacity and moreover just more flat rides. There really isn’t anything in the park worth doing for families. It’s also why I’ve been an advocate for a GCI in the park as well. But this gimmick spinner feels like an insult to injury. If this is the replacement I might finally buy a Hershey season pass like Ive been debating when this whole mess started.

Right now I'm definitely thinking there is some disagreements happening right now, there was definitely disagreements with removing Ka, that's how rumors made their way to El Toro Ryan and Coaster Studios. The park was adamant that they wanted to keep the ride but corporate forced their hands. Not to mention it would also be incredibly fast if plans are already firmly in place for Ka when the park wasn't removing the ride till 2025 just a few months ago. Then the park was forced to talk about the removal of Ka when they didn't want to because of the media frenzy and bad press. If they announced Ka's closure without some sort of replacement plan it would have been really bad, so they threw together some sort of half announcement and made the wording super unclear. If they were removing the ride they would have said so when people asked for clarification, instead of "we will be adding an all-new coaster in 2026". Of course, they would advertise any ride that reuses the existing structure as "all-new", you don't spend 30 million on a ride that reuses the existing structure only to tell people that it's the same exact ride. Also makes sense that right now it looks like the first part of the ride to go is the launch section (coasterspot found took a picture of the launch track and the cable is slacking) because no matter what it won't be reused. As for Zumanjaro, not surprised it's being removed, before these rumors started I was expecting it to be SBNO for the rest of Ka's life, if they are doing something to the tower like making new track I would expect them to take Zumanjaro down at the same time. I'm not saying that I think Intamin or someone will come in and do something to Ka but I am saying that I won't rule it out until that tower comes down.

Several reporters have said that when they sent request with follow up questions that they did receive clarification and that the answer was yes it's being removed not reimagind or reused and that Zumanjaro is also going. Here is one example of that.

They also were telling people just the day before that KA was not being removed though. Don’t listen an anything coming out of the marketing team at Great Adventure right now. They are clearly clashing with Corporate and anything can change in a minute.

That's fair but keep in mind that we didn't see the actual message they got, only their interpretation of that message. I doubt that Six Flags Marketing gave out different responses depending on the source. We also saw a lot of people who got the message about an "all new coaster" immediately jump the gun and say Ka was being removed so I have a feeling the same thing is happening here. Sarah from Coaster Studios is another person who told us Ka was coming down but we didn't see the message she got. I doubt they would give her anything more than El Toro Ryan got which was...very inconclusive.

And if that little piece of text is all this source got it still doesn't say they are removing the coaster

I found a screenshot of the 400ft Mack Spinner concept that they sent out in surveys a couple of months ago.

I know this isn't entirely related to the topic of the thread, but do they really think this is a good replacement for Ka? That's actually embarrassing if so, that or they just don't care.

*COUGHS LOUDLY*

Oh excuse me seasonal allergies...

the shuttle part is what’s so maddening. we’re already getting a launched shuttle coaster! I know it’s a different system but goddamn the capacity and wait for Flash and this is gonna be BRUTAL in 2026. I could live with a spinner replacement but just make it a closed loop, give me a drop off of that tower.
