ok, I have a idea: what if they restore the Edward's airfield at great back to its former glory (building a b&m wing coaster to replace green lantern & the parachute tower, retheming superman to a air force themed, and add a new simulator ride that is like right stuff in the old right stuff building (which involved replacing the slingshot with a ride plaza & outdoor queue line) and replace the go karts with flat rides (similar to those from carowinds) and add a new flat ride where twister used to be

This is actually an incredible idea, especially if it’s a launched wing coaster.

McGuire AFB is like 20 minutes away in New Hanover, NJ - why not go local? They even have an arch to model after for a land entry (although it could be more generic than this as not take anything away from the real thing):

Remove the Slingshot, Sky Coaster, and Go-Karts, and then put the arch next to the building. Inside the old sim building is a new flight simulator (shades of Soarin'), while outside is a few clones of what Carowinds has in their area. Add a Vekoma SFC coaster to the land, and have a custom layout that goes over the arch and uses the space around the former rock climbing area (while the queue and station would be back near the Sky Coaster spot). I'd still retheme Superman and incorporate it as a Stealth theme of some kind, but that can live "next" to the land, and then the rest of the space is room enough for Boardwalk stuff.

I like to see a map of what your idea could look like

Visited again today - didn’t see any eye catching differences in the Ka/Lantern plots from what I could see besides not seeing the leftover track from Ka. Someone on one of Coliwood’s recent SFGAdv visit videos claimed there is construction scheduled to start July 14th but I have not seen anything anywhere to support that claim (permits? FAA waiver for height? etc.)

My guess is that the construction is for the electrical systems that will be required to power the ride. We’ll see if anything happens in ten days I suppose

I also visited yesterday, while not necessarily anything noteworthy, when I left the park at around 2 pm there was definitely a small crew doing something in the ka plot.

or unless the eagles win another super bowl so great adventure can name the new coaster after the Philly eagles
I know I'm late commenting on this, but I think Six Flags missed a golden opportunity here. They could have renamed Green Lantern to "The Hurts Coaster" in honor of Jalen Hurts. And even for people who know nothing about football, the name would make perfect sense in another way.

I visited Great Adventure today. To my knowledge and from what I saw, no more work has been done on the Ka site. However, there was a lot of cars/vans and other vehicles driving around the general area. With the 14th being the supposed start date of construction coming up, hopefully we get lucky.

Looks like concrete forms stacked up on the pallets.
Exactly what those are for! Which is very exciting that we’ll see footings go in soon. It looks like they’ll be footings with pier caps (in the style of Jersey Devil’s foundations) as opposed to caissons (e.g. AlpenFury), but it’s also possible we see a mix of both depending on the structure and other requirements.

Usually we can tell who the ride manufacturer is based on the anchor bolts, as all the manufacturers have very distinct styles. Won’t be long before we at least know who was called up for this exciting project!
