News Project 2027/Otter: Rip Roarin’ Falls (Whitewater Super Flume)

The park has created a new project for additional infrastructure around the Rip Roarin' Falls site.

Another update from 7/22/2026.
Track is accumulating in the staging area. It's been a bit since a major attraction was staged here - honestly, maybe even since Fury325 was constructed.
A tower roof is being assembled on the ground before installation.
The towers are pretty close to being topped off with roofs. You can see the switch on the first tower and a base of where the turntable will be on the second.
Full site. Still lots of concrete to pour. You can see where the island in the reservoir will be, as well as the left side of the trough right before lift 1.

In the first image you can see the dryers and locker buildings at the exit of the attraction. The second image shows the new storage building underneath Fury / behind RRF tower.
Still bummed about the entrance situation. They seem committed to it, though.

I didn’t get to look too closely at it when I was there Monday, but my friend and I did both notice that this thing manages to look both incredibly tiny in Fury’s presence and very imposing at the same time. Pictures really don’t do it justice, once you’re in Fury’s queue it’s really apparent just how huge it actually is despite its surroundings.
The track for the turntable isn't installed yet. Just the first piece of the drop. I'm pretty sure theres gonna be a roof there too
The separated handicap loading platform is a huge surprise! Absolutely LOVE to see that! Great operational forethought out of Carowinds! Rare to see that level of investment into capacity these days.
They have made some good progress this week on the ride. I cannot tell if the first (smaller) lift and drop are done, but they have at least started those. Also, that first reverse drop looks pretty steep. Maybe its the angle of the camera, but that looks like it is going to be a fun element.
I love the car used as a prop for Scarowinds.
Obviously seen countless pieces from former rides at various parks used as props, but I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen one from a ride currently under construction used as one lol
