This ride's presentation was a big fear of mine going into this announcement, and I'm pleased to see that it looks nice. The inclusion of small show scenes with scattered figures of wildlife will be great. Super excited!

What puzzles is me is the fact that they are indeed only providing an access point through Fury325's plaza, and not one where their teaser campaign resided. The concept animation actually does show the previously planned pathway leading to Carousel Plaza.

Hopefully between now and memorial day '27 they can get that path added back to the project.

cool ride, but will have a forever line. 2 track transfers will slow this to a crawl. The reverse drop is nice but its gonna cost in wait times.
The track transfers should be no issue, the boats do not stay on them for very long. Assuming it runs like existing installs, the reversing sections should be able to cycle a boat every 15-20 seconds. Most likely the limiting factor will be the station loading times.
Even if can only do a dispatch 30 seconds, it will still have a capacity of 940 PPH.
A boat every 30 seconds is a completely reasonable expectation on these rides.

I'm still in disbelief about the entrance situation. When the attraction opens next spring, guests will have to go around the hideous Carowinds Theater into Fury325 plaza. From there you will have to walk a distance to ride the attraction.

Why not just have guests enter where you've had the teaser campaign, allowing for a newer, prettier access to Fury325?

It's a mistake in my opinion to make your guests access the new headlining attraction in the way they're planning.

I am in agreement with you on this, especially since the teasers were focused on the former Kaleidoscope home. But on the other hand, Fury itself is such a large draw so I don’t think that will hurt. Maybe this will mean that area will get a remake in the future.

I’m surprised they ended up not using the trademarked area name “Timber Hallow”, but my guess is that maybe when they cut the restaurant and original pathway out, they decided to make it an extension of Thrill Zone instead of its own area. I agree though that putting the pathway next to Fury is a bad decision.

IMO, in spite of RRF being a record-breaker, it seems thematically closer to Carousel Park than Thrill Zone and foot-traffic wise, it seems it will cause a bottleneck in that back area of Thrill Zone vs not really interrupting the flow at Carousel Park.

I think it could work out if they end up redoing Thrill Zone which is the area of the park that most desperately needs an update, but if the original area got reduced due to budgets cuts, I can’t see them going that route.

It might be the maintainance road access to the theater that led to them cutting it. The budget cut version is a bummer.

It's possible that there are greater phase 2 plans that will be permitted at a later date. Who knows with the uncertain economic conditions ahead, though.

I hope they have more fun teasers and make this area themed like the Werewolf Gorge coaster at Fiesta Texas. The animated figures in the ride animations give me hope.

Some photos from Carowinds Fans Only's facebook page.

New hardware arriving on site. You will notice the rocks pulled from the Rip Roarin' Rapids site - these will be used for landscaping for the new attraction. I wonder if some of this is track?

Here's some aerial views they posted. The final lift is having its concrete footers poured, the larger one at the bottom of the plot showing where the base of the lift will be.

The final tower's footings are also being poured. It'll be interesting to see the reverse drop's reservoir and troughs get formed in the coming weeks.

Very excited for it to go vertical. The pace they're at has me hopeful for a spring opening.

Here is the flume car in front of what should be an entrance to the attraction's plaza.

The promo display.

Here is where the entrance to the attraction's plaza will be.

My dream is that Carowinds will file plans for a phase 2 with some used flats and a new dining offering, making this promenade more of a themed area. It's only June, maybe there will be surprises.

Probably never happening, but I actually think a rustic refresh of Fury would be awesome. I wouldn’t even change the colors, just the queue and station to match RRF better. The name and colors would be somewhat incoherent but in my head it works fine

Fury's aesthetics have not been touched in 11 years - not even a coat of paint on the faded queue shade structures. A proper overhaul as part of a greater transformation of Thrill Zone would do wonders for the attraction. It's definitely going to be awkward having the entrance for two prime attractions side by side in Trill Zone, with two completely different styles.

It's great to see vertical construction on the attraction, but wow - Fury will definitely make that behemoth of a flume tower look like nothing. So excited with the speed so far. You can see them preparing the land for the 1st drop's splashdown.

Would the park really want to rename what is widely known as the best coaster in the world? I think marketing would have something to say about that.

Retheme not rename. Fury 325 sounds futuristic but could work with a rustic outdoorsy theme if you really lean into the hornet motif. I wouldn’t advocate for a name or track color change. Both are too iconic
