They haven’t done a conversion in the states in a bit because there aren’t as many good candidates anymore, so people see the company as stagnant (imo unfairly). RMC making a good business move by pivoting to family rides doesn’t necessarily endear them more to enthusiasts either.

Also it’s about that time in a fandom where people turn against the once hot fresh new thing bc they wanna be contrarians. Mack is the new thoosie darling.

Yes, Vekoma! They were the butt of coaster jokes for years. Granted, they have come a long way, but there are a lot of good coasters out there from a good number of active manufacturers. And plenty of those that are neither the best nor the worst (as it appears are the only two categories of things for some people).

I think the bigger problem with RMC from what I understand is questionable quality and reliability from some of their products that parks seem to be taking issue with. I believe I heard someone say they heard a park official refer to RMC as "Rednecks Making Coasters" and that has stuck with me lmao

Funny, then people flew to Arie Force One and all was forgiven for 2 months? RMC was a crown jewel all over again for the rediscovered greatness of that ride.

I think thoughtful, adult enthusiasts probably have that reservation because they see things with nuance and understand the industry, but the high schoolers with coaster YouTube channels are just mad RMC has slowed its output down and is now making a family coaster.
