As a local, I'd say they're pretty much right on schedule for a typical SFMM project. The extreme heat during the summer is more of a hindrance to construction projects at that park than weather any other time of year, so it's typical for projects to start later than they might at seasonal theme parks. For example, footers didn't start going in for Full Throttle until November 2012, with vertical construction from February to April of 2013 and an opening in June of that year. While I'm sure this ride will probably be a bit more elaborate, I probably wouldn't be that concerned about it making a Summer 2027 opening unless we get to October and they haven't even started putting footers in place.

Also, I've heard the nature of this prototype requires very stable ground and lots of grading and prep work. The two other parks building this model are announcing them 2-3 years early. That is unheard of.
If you think about a ride with heavy trains like Tron, but suspended under the track, it starts to make sense. Especially with strict California building regulations.

Throw in earthquakes as well, and you can see why building a coaster that essentially uses the terrain is so challenging.
Good point. I have a friend that did residential and commercial construction projects all over Santa Clarita around the east side of I-5 in the Valencia and Canyon Country neighborhoods and he said that the summers there are brutal to work outside.

Iirc that track video is really old and remember that Our Mountain Thrill Park is a completely fan account with no more inside info than you or me
