Capacity was also a massive issue with VR. I only did Skull Mountain and Zumanjaro (not a coaster, but still), and Skull Mountain already gets long wait times but I was not a fan of waiting 2 hours for it. VR was also the only time I ever saw more than a 20 min wait for Zumanjaro, granted it was probably only about 30 mins and doing it on the most remote, low ridership attraction in the park was probably intentional, but doing it while it was already struggling with capacity due to NJ blocking it from operating simultaneously with Kingda Ka was certainly a choice.

I’m still holding out hope for DarKruiser Hotel…a sparsely interactive but costly B&B with Party City-level decorations and effects
That comes with park tickets but you’re not allowed to leave Oktoberfest and you’re paying more money than any other hotel in the area… but of course you can roleplay as king Ludwig’s snowmobile maintenance man

I made the VRBolten comment in jest while sipping on bourbon and reading the Kraken thread. It was just a quick pun that didn’t come up in the search so I posted it. I am not advocating for a VR experience on Verbolten on any other ride at BGW though one can argue that it might be an improvement on the current state of effects in various rides like Verbolten or the cave in Loch Ness. We all know the execution for technology-focused projects would leave a lot to be desired (see SWO Expedition Odyssey) when BGW should be focusing more on practical effects and theming like they successfully implemented in TBBW:TWR

Verbolton from what I’ve seen has been consistently closing during Christmas town due to cold weather. why not just close it right now and start the renovation it would save a lot of operating costs and they can get the project done sooner for guests to ride it earlier

To @Zachary ‘s point of VR and AR on sims:
I believe the inherent issue on moving rides as opposed to platformed is the roughness. Eyelines are less predictable as well as weight of headsets. It’s also tough to design a VR World around a preexisting layout compared to doing it together but as pointed out, even that’s really challenging at the moment.

This is a spot I feel AI will be a MASSIVE help to the work for this. Being able to have AI help in realtime adjust everything in a AR/VR world to match eye movement rather than accelerometers measuring head movement would really change how these things get seen. Especially if they can be put on smoother rides like a powered coaster and trackless ride systems.

Very possibly the company doing it is not even ready to start yet. Might not even be up to BGW and just got lucky they can keep it open for Xmas town.

Could the Roller Coaster Insider Tour reveal when Verbolten is reopening? The tour is advertised as having a walk through the Verbolten Special Effects Building, and the first available date to book is March 21. Of course, it's possible it's unrelated or management isn't communicating with the construction teams, but I do find it very interesting that the tour supposedly has the ride and it's available starting that day

I personally wouldn’t look at that as a sign as to when the ride is opening. I think what probably will happen is DarKoaster will replace Verbolten on the tour until Verbolten reopens.

I 👀 some new permits for outside the building

I have a VERY comprehensive frontpage article nearing completion now that I've been working on off-and-on for about a week now. Look for it by this evening. People are NOT prepared. I keep telling people BGW has been listening and learning... and to say this is the best illustration of that yet would be an enormous understatement.

Mind = Blown.

I can't help but see these new tree additions and picture the upside down lol Make it stranger things themed haha

After reading the article, this is above and beyond what I thought the park was capable of. Here's to hoping these new changes are easy to maintain and won't suffer the same fate that the old theming did. Other than that, this is some old-school A-B level stuff going on here and I am all for it!

All I want to see before I die is Busch Gardens putting in the effort of the AB days again. This gives me hope.
