Well, I'll be crossing my fingers and hoping the new re-theme works in context. Hopefully that this will be done by the same team who worked on the Loch Ness Monsters refurbishment, those people did a really good job with it.

I can report that for the last few weeks several different groups of people both from the park and from outside companies have been on site looking at the building while I don't know details the interest I have seen reported strongly suggesting a fair decent size refresh

I would love a more substantial entrance facade, maybe one that goes all the way to the ground and extends more than 5 feet out in either direction. Could add a lot to immersion. Maybe a few more trees too while we're at it.

I also wonder if you could reprogram the drop track? Not sure if these older models are capable of it but I'd imagine you could add an extra thrill inside by having a fake-out drop followed by the real one. May reduce capacity slightly but also might be relatively cheap if possible.

It's almost certainly not. These Zierer drop tracks are radically different than the Intamin ones. They have an actual release mechanism that physically, truly, drops the track and have fixed magnetic brakes to catch it at the bottom exactly like a drop tower. Super cool mechanism that doesn't get enough credit in my opinion.

so "fairytales fade fast" I'm guessing they go with 3 different grimms fairytale based themes for the retheme, maybe

Red Riding Hood; Hansel and Gretel; and some third story involving a gnome?

I am fully expecting the main change being video screens along the sides and in front of the drop track. Could be cool if executed well, could suck if executed poorly.
That's what you think it is? I hope it's something more than just that honestly, but yeah this is a fair theory

The drop track in Verbolten never ceases to amaze me because it's super cool. It's still easily one of the best rides in the park, up there with Pantheon and a secret third option.

This is exactly why I like Verbolten’s drop over Hagrids. It’s a true freefall.

There is at least one other previously unplanned major dollar thing that the park is HAVING to deal with as well as several small behind the seems things that they are dealing with do to aging park infrastructure.
Hopefully the budget for Vbolt doesn’t alter and is too far past the planning stages to be cut
