Demolition work has been complete for a while and it appears that support and foundation work is now underway.

Keep meaning to update. Work has been moving very slowly. I know the original plan was to have it open by Memorial day but I don't think that is in the cards anymore.

I was shocked when I saw it, but that was because of how they are building it. I can't believe they are using wood as opposed to steel beams. Seems like it will drastically reduce the lifespan. I'm still very excited to see this kind of investment!

I thought the same at first, but after visiting a few Fun Spot locations this year, it seems like wood (sometimes painted) is "industry standard" for these kinds of kart tracks. Excited to try the new track this summer, hopefully.

Keep meaning to stop by and get pictures. Progress has been slow for a number of reasons but the floor has started to go in on the up ramp.

I mean not to be critical, but is one of the delay reasons being the vertical metal supports weren't available? Just made me do a double take is all.

okay see thats what I was looking for, but yeah its still surprising.

It will be really cool when its ready, that is one of those big jumps in entertainment level going from flat tracks of our youth to 3 dimension mario kart.

No there were some last minute issues at the county level that delayed the start as well as some unforeseeable construction issues that caused delays and they were forced to choose to either pause construction over the summer or have extended closers while work was bing done and went for that they saw as the lesser of two evils of pausing construction. Basically no work was being done from the end of May till the beginning of September. Since then there has been a noticeable increase in progress.

Any updates on this thing? I don’t recall GKP having announced anything about this being open.
