I think geographically I'm mixing up northern vs southern ends. In my eye, I'm orienting it based on the view on the park map, with Superman being the southernmost point of the Boardwalk. I forget that technically Superman is the northernmost point when looking at things on an ACTUAL map lol. I'm over here thinking to myself "Where are they gonna fit all this by the tents?"

With that in mind there is still the dare devil dive plot of land on the opposite side of the boardwalk. I remember there being rumors of the wild mouse at SFA going in that plot but don't know if anything ended up happening on that front.

something tell me it be a superman retheme to fit in with the rumoured retheme of half of the boardwalk area

Several have speculated Ragin' Cajun could come to SFGAdv. They're almost done disassembling it at SFAm. First one apparently at the park. Sure seems like it's on-the-move. Maybe it's part of the Boardwalk reno? I mean it's a spinner, which I believe is a requirement for all new rides at our park? 🤪 How about the Boardwalk Rambler? The Surrey Slider? The Shoobie Twister? The Pork Roller?!

Rajin Cajun was listed for sale a couple days after SFA closed, zero chance it comes here

My understanding with the SFA situation is that they ultimately said no to a few prospective brokers in favor of keeping several ride assets. That amusement-rides.com was dishonest bait to attract interest for different attractions, like this; Aladdin Coaster - Sinbad Land (Baghdad, Baghdad, Iraq). One such broker made Six Flags' team aware of the listings to complain, and within a few hours they were gone.

I am assuming Cajun stays within the chain, there's almost no shot it goes to SFGADV though. Selling it to the fair circuit is also a difficult prospect as the buyer themselves would have to rack it on trailers. Many small parks would take it but that hungry list includes other Six Flags parks and it's more valuable to keep.

Cajun coming here would be a disaster. I know there’s plenty of things the park is trying to do right now, but a ride that’s over two decades old isn’t the answer to the parks flat ride/small coaster shortage.

Not to mention the park already has a wild mouse and is getting a spinner. Would not make a lot of sense to me but neither do most decisions these people make

Imagine a Valleyfair or Michigans Adventure regular reading this thread and hearing yall call potentially getting a new coaster a “disaster”. It doesn’t have to be “the answer”, it can be a cheap add for a revitalized boardwalk. Completely possible to afford a relocated coaster and another flat or two for a park at the top of the food chain.

But one of the park's biggest problems has been half-assed additions that lower overall park value. Great Adventure's biggest competition is Hersheypark. It has a slight advantage, since it's more accessible to city folks without cars, but as far as park product goes, Hersheypark looks a lot nicer; Theming is a lot more cohesive, and things are in pretty good shape. Great Adventure, on the hand, has patchwork paving, jawless skull mountain, poorly re-themed Medusa, desolate superman, and an overall disjointed atmosphere. As much as I would appreciate another coaster to spread out lines on the few busy days the park still gets, I think the money spent on getting Cajun set up at Great Adventure would way better spent on general park upkeep and improvements of existing assets.

Comparing GAdvs market and fierce competition to two smaller parks with no competition seems a bit disingenuous. We’re talking about a park that is supposed to serve the largest metro area in North America, and is going through a make or break redevelopment phase that they absolutely have to nail in order to even have a shot at becoming flagship level again in the future.

I know the GP aren’t nitpicky about coaster specifics, but a poor atmosphere absolutely influences whether or not guests will show up, and bad rides play a part in that. Guests might not care about how many airtime moments a ride has or how tall/fast it is, but they absolutely will care about how enjoyable of an experience a ride can be. Poor upkeep and maintenance play a role in this too, and I don’t expect a ride that’s already in rough shape combined with that to be appealing to anyone. Green Lantern for years would get no lines while Superman next door routinely had hour long waits. It was universally hated by everyone. Bad rides, especially coming from a park with even worse maintenance than GAdvs, aren’t the answer because they will simply add to the long list of reasons why guests have chosen Hershey for the past decade.

yeah, especially since six flags is dumping valleyfair & Michigan adventure to a company named enchanted parks

I think that, if themed and presented well, carnival-ish-type rides (like a relocated Ragin' Cajun) could be perfectly good filler attractions in a renovated Boardwalk area.

Obviously a relocated spinning mouse won't do much for the park's lineup, but if the choice is between that and a flat, I'm picking the spinning mouse every time all else being equal.

Ultimately, I don't think Ragin' Cajun is probably in the cards for SFGAdv—a second mouse and a spinning coaster the year before another spinner would be a very weird move—and I do think the asset is way more valuable at other properties. That said, if it comes, you won't see me complaining as long as it's well integrated into the park.

I have to disagree on this one. Disney tried the carnival style kitschy theming for Animal Kingdom, and folks always complained about it. No matter how intentional/on theme it is I don't think carnival theming reads well in a theme park setting.

Disney also really can’t be used as a comparison. People complained about Dinoland USA because it was cheap and cheesy specifically compared to everything else Disney had done.

My last Disney trip was in early 2019 (good lord how has it been 7 years) and I specifically made sure to hit Dinoland USA because I hadn’t on my only other AK visit in 2008, and I wanted to see this alleged shithole in the middle of a Disney park that I had heard about. It was not that by any means.

While I absolutely get the vitriol towards it at Animal Kingdom, all I could think was how neat it would be at a Six Flags park. It was nothing special, sure, but it blows away the theming a vast majority of areas at SF parks have. We’re also talking about an area that’s ALREADY boardwalk themed, leaning into it would serve them well imo.
