Knott’s Berry Farm will soon transform its Johnny Rockets location into a new chicken-focused dining location, Crafty’s Kitchen.

On April 15, the conclusion of Knott’s popular Boysenberry Festival, Johnny Rockets will start its transformation into Crafty’s Kitchen. The new menu will spotlight two of Knott’s most iconic staples, chicken and boysenberries.

I was at the park today and saw no less than a dozen workers on site when I rode Jaguar just after lunch. All of the LSMs in front of the station are in and appear to be ready for (or in the process of) electrical hookup. Everything behind the station is dirt, which makes me wonder if they'll be installing some back there as well (the wider cutout goes about halfway to the rear spike). If nothing else, it confirms that the entire entrance and queue area are being built from scratch rather than reutilizing what used to be there.

I've been hearing whispers that July 4th is the target, and based on how things looked today I think that is definitely possible but without much margin for error. Do I think anyone should be looking into planning a trip yet? Absolutely not, especially if you're restricted to the summer season. But based on the work I've seen, based on what I've heard from multiple sources, and based on the park continuing to advertise the ride, I'd consider it surprising if we don't at least see testing within the next couple months.
