I don’t think Phantasialand has a single coaster over 100 feet, and I would trade almost any park in the states for it in a heartbeat.
See also: Alton Towers, who can't build above the tree line.

There are some advantages to it not swinging:

I said I'd be happy with the lack of swinging if the ride had tight clearances. After seeing this and just how tight they got it, I'm happy.

After review of this footage, and deep breathing in a quiet room, I can safely say my opinions have changed from slightly mournful to elevated elation.

Also, @Zachary - can we allow a betting pool beginning at $5 for which ride will rattle more - this or Rapterra? 😅

If BBW rattles, the park can just say its harkening back to the Arrow-design of the former BBW, now dubbed as the "Nostalgic Ride Experience, (NRE)" whereas with Rapterra, KD will claim it is the *earth-shattering* "Spirit of Volcano, (SoV)" lying underneath Rapterra, and not an inherent issue with smoothness. Both parks remain "Committed to the highest standards in ride quality and entertainment value for its guests."

See? PR done for both new VA roller coasters, for free, in a single post. 🤣

Zachary I know you have connections in the park, tell them I’ll sign a waiver and tie my legs to the underside of the seat if they let me ride /s

Honestly everyone should be hyped for this. This is a level of detail and care we haven’t seen from this park since Verbolten. I’m telling y’all, the attention Epic Universe is getting on social media is putting parks on notice. Theming is the way forward for regional parks and I couldn’t be happier. If everything’s gonna be insanely expensive now they might as well make it worth our money.

Seeing the village come together makes me unreasonably happy. I know it’s not quite as big as the original village, but just the knowledge that there’s a little village back in the woods again, tucked away from the main park, just feels right. This is looking like a home run.

God DAMN this looks good... that village is insane and the foot-chopper... I can't think of any other coasters that get that close to the ground. This will be insane.
Side note, I wonder what they'll do for landscaping once its done? Hopefully they'll add cobbled pathways leading to the buildings and weaving through the gate.

We have the landscaping plans. 😉

This landscaping plan is crazy amazing! It's so funny that they're putting trees and other landscaping back in the land that was once occupied by Drachen Fire, which was a coaster that needed to tear down trees for it to be built.

Honestly believe this coaster will be one of the best things to happen to the park in a long time.
I agree, I think the only disappointing element to this ride is the double lift. I know it's tough to stay low to the ground and deal with elevation changes. I'm over the use (misuse) of the land, it sat dormant for far too long.

Hopefully BGW has a good long term plan.

I pray to god that the landscaping isn't what one of the other members was alluding to being cut/reduced a couple months ago...

Should note that I think something has definitely changed. It looks to me like the village wall has been moved a little closer to the railroad track—likely to shorten it and remove that second wall pass-through.

Anyone else spotted the same disparity between the photos on the ground and the plans or am I seeing things wrong?

It could also be valley related too, Velocicoaster had rock work cut back because it was in the way if it valleys.

Is that a fountain in the middle of the helix? I wonder when we'll start seeing that irl

Wouldn’t a site revision plan be needed? Or could that occur later on?

It depends on how significant the change. The wall shift of a few feet is minor. The construction can still be considered in significant conformance with the approved site plan even if the wall shifted a few feet in either direction. Removal of site plan components can be handled with a post-approval "red line mark-up" or 'slipsheet' at the County offices. This wouldn't need a full formal site plan revision. A post-construction as-built/record drawing could be provided to County as the formal document to be included with the site plan.

Or....none of the above will occur and the County will let BG carry on.

Yeah, take a look at the original Drachen Fire site plan if you want to see how much things can change from planning to execution.

Note: Zachary originally uploaded this in the Drachen Fire thread. Reuploading here so you don't have to go looking for it.

Other Note: The stuff that looks like it's in sharpie is, I think, from someone reusing the site plan for later work on the same site, after DF was removed. Not 100% sure about that though.

The Big Bad Wolf _The Wolf's Revenge Key Visual.jpg

As someone who has only been to the Busch Gardens in Tampa, there is something about The Big Bad Wolf concept that has always interested me---but this new version even more so, because the coaster now appears to be a show element/character itself. The glowing eye Wolf coaster car going through a village and the woods is just so simple and effective. Sometimes United/Busch/Sea World really hits it out of the park with their coaster car designs, and I'd rank this one at the top in front of Oscar's Wacky Taxi, Cheetah Hunt, Iron Gwazi, and Mako as my favorite, design wise.
