Not that I don’t want a creative name, but let’s be real here - naming has never really been a huge BGW strongsuit. I wouldn’t even consider some hugely creative name a “return to form” like some are acting - the big coaster names for a long time were “Big Bad Wolf,” “Loch Ness Monster,” “Apollo’s Chariot” - Alpengeist was really the first one to stand out with some hugely creative, foreign language and culture-based name and Verbolten really the only one to ever follow in that vein since.

I associate the general storytelling and actual physical theming to be much more in BGW’s wheelhouse and the standard I hold them to than coming up with some awesome name for it.

I like the direction, but they're too long or too complicated to be feasible in my opinion.

I know naming coasters is hard—especially when the standards are as high as they are at BGW—@Nicole and I struggled for days to come up with Holzfäller—but it is proof that it can be done. Hopefully BGW marketing is taking the job seriously and has given it the time, effort, and attention it deserves. Alternatively, if they can't come up with anything good, they're free to use Holzfäller! Worked out well with DarKoaster and it would have worked out perfectly with Drachen Spire. Why mess with success? 😋

(foreshadowing)
Zachary, you're awesome of course but I respectfully must say....I think they can do much better than Holzfaller. Just not very strong from a marketing perspective for the general public and also...Holes. no holes please lol. As tickled as I was they chose to use your suggestion for Darkoaster after we all had been referring to it as such for so long, even that I feel was a missed opportunity in the ride-naming department. But at least it clearly described what we were in for. ..dark coaster, doesn't get much more on the nose then that! Here's hoping for something creative in it's own right that pays homage but doesn't try to upstage BBW

I wonder if they'd wait to announce it until October. A good month for spooky related stuff ;p

They could also tie the announcement to Oktoberfest, which starts in September, but does end in October.

I know I'm almost definitely wrong, but a small part of me hopes this will be an s&s axis
Much as I am a simp for ride vehicles that have some movement to them, BGW critically needs a 42" minimum coaster at this point.

I think I've finally come to acceptance with the lack of swinging, as it looks like we'll be getting right up to the buildings / facades. I'll even accept that the ending will probably be weak, because a tame ending is what this ride needs to not terrify the little kids who are just tall enough to ride.

Thank you Zach. Fascinating read as always! The way you frame everything always gets me super hyped. Can't wait for the name and some more promotional material with official images etc. Bring it on

It's going to be a fascinating few months watching all this landscaping and theming come to life. I can only imagine how cool the views are going to be from the train once that thing is flying over the railroad and through the village
