Uhhhh….
How many other roller coasters in the US or world incorporate switch tracks to send you around the layout twice?

EDIT: to clarify I’m more or less referring to them not having anything largely similar. Not necessarily worlds first marketing material.

Dunno if that's something you can search for on RCDB, but my guess is not many if at all since there's only a few that use switch tracks during the course (not counting switches for duel-loading stations) in general, and even less with fast switch tracks.

Only non-Intamin I can think of that has a switch track is Expedition Everest by Vekoma, though I'm guessing there's maybe a few more out there.

Funny thing is I remember when I was a kid wanting to design coasters I was inspired by the flipping transfer track of BBW to think that would be really neat to use it on a ride somehow. Of course, my thought was more or less a randomized experience where the switch would have you go down separate tracks that do different things. Depending on timing, possibly even set up racing or dueling elements, before the second switch to bring everyone back to the station.

But how awesome would that concept be if they implemented it to whatever is coming?

Nothing to back this up... but I'm thinking (and hoping) this is going to be an RMC and not an Intamin. I'm just not sure how you build another Intamin without being somewhat redundant after Pantheon.

That's what was so disappointing about the "Drachen Spire" concept. It was different, but with a very key similarity to Pantheon and other BGW coasters (it was launched). In the end it was hopelessly underwhelming with a huge price tag.

The only intamin that fits the known parameters and remains remotely unique to the park, would be an Expedition G-Force type hypercoaster. Which is not a bad idea but still underwhelming compared to the potential uniqueness of an RMC I box or T Rex. If the height balloons were higher I would say this is a shoe-in for the first T Rex that RMC teased recently. It was also hinted to be a giga if I understand correctly so… 2024 BGT🤞.

If I were a betting man, this is an I-Box RMC, simply because that would be BGW's best bet after the success of Iron Gwazi. And the supposedly 2 coaster deal with Intamin will be fulfilled after DarKoaster.

only thing that would be odd about them switching from Intamin to RMC would be getting Intamin to presumably release them from a contract to allow a competitor to build a different coaster… just seems a little unlikely to me… though I agree having a T-Rex would be cool…

Unless there was another project they switched to that was *at least* similar in scale 👀

Tbh, does anyone here know the actual structure of the deal and financials involved?

I'm guessing the paperwork was signed back in 2018 for an overall project completion by 2020... So many things have happened since then and it's conceivable that the deal got restructured since DK wasn't known to be on the table yet there it is, and that could be it for now from Intamin with the FHP ride possibly having gone out to someone else with a different vision other than what DS was going to offer.

Or DK was a separate deal, and ride 2 is still in the works?

I guess it is possible with the increase in costs of goods, like steel, Intamin couldn’t deliver the coaster at the agreed price so both parties walked away…

I'm certainly not privy to the specifics of the deal with Intamin so I should've said- potentially the 2 coaster deal would be fulfilled.

Also, I was incorrect in my earlier post as said hint from RMC mentioned a Giga but not a T-Rex. I just assume they would build a giga T-Rex as opposed to a giga I-Box or giga raptor, especially since RMC seems back on trying to get buyers of the T-Rex model.
