Up until a day or two ago, it's been about ten months since my last post. While I think New Loch Ness was a well-done addition, Darkoaster and Pantheon before it made me think that it was a fluke, a diamond (or what's a cheaper gemstone, an emerald? a ruby?) in the rough. I didn't have much excitement for what was next, especially when it seemed like this year's coaster would be just a barebones family invert tucked in the back corner of the park. It's clear now that I was so, so, so wrong. I have yet to ride the coaster, but my god, Coaster Studios' Night POV made me feel more from a new coaster, no, new attraction, in years. I cannot overstate how overwhelmingly positive I feel about this addition. It's not just the ride, but the plaza around it with the sign and the "Das Sleeping Lamb Inn" AND THE WOLF HEADS IN THE FENCE! COME ON!!! It's such a bizarre feeling to be excited about the future of this park, but that's genuinely how I feel right now. This ride has me excited for the antique cars next year, like how is that even possible? What United Parks has done here has truly blown me away, and I am fully on board with every new addition if they keep it on this level. Also, no shade, but I fully believe Wolf's Revenge is better than that other brand new wolf-themed family coaster in Orlando...

They continue adding things daily. New signs in the queue, umbrellas in the queue, trash can in the station, stained the new wooden racks. Literally every day it gets better.

They also have a draft beer cart with BBW themed non alcoholic beer, they were doing samples yesterday. It's extremely sweet. I think it's there take on trying to do the butterbeer thing.

I saw a video from the opening ceremony, and it seems that there's more theming details they added. Which includes a plaque on the main bell tower next to the Big Bad Wolf sign near Das Festhaus that hints about the ride's story. It's awesome that the park is adding things still.

iom geeks video?

I saw two videos of the opening day that shows the recent additions and how big the turnout was. The signs look gorgeous… the paintings are amazing. The more that is unveiled… I don’t know how anyone can bitch about this or Loch Ness’ recent thematic investment.

The only people complaining are the ones who think anything but a 300ft giga RMC is a trash ride

Once again, Busch Gardens proves that they are the best in the game with on ride soundtracks. This ride has such amazing music, and it's a shame it will probably never be released to the public. The way the music builds until you see the reveal of the village and the way the bells are integrated into the soundtrack is so good. This ride is so much better because of the music

Everyone loving the on ride audio, I should note, we have seen on ride audio essentially stop working on rides with several examples in subsequent years. If you are really excited about this feature, I recommend riding this season or ASAP. There are not a lot of instances of on ride audio still operating consistently with a coaster in subsequent seasons outside of Universal and Disney parks. Just a word of caution on expectations if you go and it’s not working. Big Bear Mountain and Phoenix Rising being notable recent examples.

I disagree about best in the game. Best in the regional park game? Yes. Better than any SF/Cedar Fair parks, better than the Legoland parks, other regional parks. But when you compare it to something like Disney? Space Mountain, Incredicoaster, Guardians, the list goes on - I don’t think anything Busch builds, even as incredible as this may be, can compare. Same goes for Universal, on a lesser scale

Nuanced personal take, and this is not a put down of you individually @coasters_bgw but:
I think we got to stop lumping Disney and Universal parks with everything else in discussions like this.

First off, they are international brands vs national brands. That puts what they do and need to do on another level.

Second, and this is the bigger one to me, Disney and Universal parks are just a sliver of a much bigger empire of both of those companies, affording them to do the luxuries other companies can’t do.

Third, I think things like this have got to be talked about as relative expectations. I expect Universal and Disney to have great ride soundtracks. For multiple reasons like rides based off IPs with iconic tracks already written, due to movie departments they have the budget for world class composers to write the music, and (for them) there’s the potential to use the same base composition in multiple parks.

Sorry, it’s just a small grinds my gears thing when people compare the regional parks to those two. I just don’t think it’s fair to either side to do that.

I agree with you @warfelg but, to be fair, @cricket is the one who compared it to the entire industry, not @@coasters_bgw.

I read @cricket's post as hyperbole—almost certainly excluding the top tier of theme parks entirely—which is totally fine. That said, I totally get why @@coasters_bgw would read it at face value and want to push back a little. As posted, "best in the game" is a fantastical claim.

It would have been more fair of me to say regional parks, because I agree with what @warfelg said. Disney/Universal are in a league of their own and of course are going to be better, as they have more to work with,

This ride is such a home run for the park. The young kids I saw riding it were loving it and it's great for adults too. Theming is great and the ride experience fits with the theme well.

I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up as the most marketable ride in the park in the coming years, particularly if they add a couple more activities to that area.

This perfectly summarizes where I have been, I have been a jaded crotchety old man in hiding and not posting as frequently, had lost all hope. But somehow someway it seems like things are going the right direction as far as attractions are concerned. I won't hold my breath with some of the other things that have deteriorated, but I will admit my pessimism in this attraction has been disproven. I still need to ride it myself, but it is unmistakable between everything I have seen and through the opinions of people I regard highly on this forum that this is a win in my book.

There is my niceness for the year, bugger off.
