So the park opens at 5 on the 28th? Meaning by the time i make it through a 2hr line its gonna be dark?
I remember for the Passholder Preview day in 2018, I was able to get a day time ride on Twisted Timbers somewhere around 5:45 then a night ride later that evening. Unless Rapterra is opening later, I don't think it's impossible for a day time ride. Either way I'd like to get both.

New Blog post! Rapterra Construction Updates

"An artist's rendering of Rapterra's entrance portal."

"Continuing past the entry portal, riders find themselves standing on an ancient, well-worn jungle trail. As they continue onward through the broken track riders discover a massive caldera crater leftover from the collapsing of the Mount Inferna Volcano, the site of the jungle hawk temple."

"The station is surrounded by anicent ruins and sculptures."

"At the station, riders find themselves in the heart of an ancient temple, the home of a mysterious device that allows them to take on the abilities and powers of the mysterious jungle hawk. After securing themselves in the device, Rapterra launches guests through the rubble and remains of the once proud temple. Arches with ancient writings, markings, and symbols of the legendary jungle hawk span over the ride’s launch as guests take flight 145 ft. over the Jungle X-Pedition midway."

Seeing how hard KD is going on theming leads me the believe CF (now SF) has seen good ROI on coasters like Mystic Timbers and Copperhead Strike. This is even more heavily themed than those two were. Hopefully when new SF fully standardizes their model it’ll look more like this and less like The Flash

Twisted Timbers, RailBlazer, Tumbili, and Iron Menace have all incorporated strong theming elements as well (RB having the most on-ride theming of the the 4 listed). Around the same time, Valravn, Yukon Striker, Orion, and TT2 were also given enough thematic elements in and around queues and plazas to convey the theme, but as larger attractions, the investments leaned more heavily into the ride itself. The one recent coaster with a lack of theming was Zambezi Zinger (though I've never been there myself, so I'm not 100% confident in my assessment).

Am I missing any thrill coasters in the Cedar Fair chain in recent memory with or without strong theming? I intentionally left out more family-focused coasters like Camp Snoopy additions or Wild Mouse.

Is that pile of rocks supposed to be the “massive caldera crater” or the fallen jungle hawk temple? I feel like the second paragraph makes it seem part of the dig site for the temple, but then what would the crater be? Could it imply something bigger around the perimeter, after all those big fake rocks that showed up are not pictured in this update, only the arches and bird statues. I know it’s kinda crazy and honestly the theming we have is more than I thought we would really ever get, but there still is the half ripped apart reptilian cave, the electrical boxes, and that big concrete box with the pneumatics in it, and from what I can tell they have nothing over there, no plants no nothing.

They aren't done with construction yet! Sheesh. There's still a month left. We'll see what it looks like on opening day.
