A very excited enthusiast told me he knows the name will be ‘Condor’. I guess we will see.

This ride is going to look stunning. Really excited for it.

Sounds about right 😆 on a scale of 1 to 10 how excited was he?
I mean pretty close to a 10. When he saw me peeking around and looking through the slats, he couldn’t stop from telling me all about it. I appreciated and of course love the enthusiasm, just wasn’t in a great spot to chat much as I was waiting for my kids to get off a ride.

As much as I hope that’s not the name it would totally sound like a Cedar Fair ride name

*SPOILER ALERT*

Before you read any further, the name of the 2025 B&M wing coaster is listed below. DO NOT read if you don't want to be spoiled.

So, Kings Dominion posted a teaser video on their Instagram that says the date they reveal the name for this coaster, and it has a bird theme. According to this patent, the only bird-themed trademarked name from Cedar Fair is "Thunderhawk"

What do you think of the name?

Trademarks typically need to be in use before they can become active. The likelihood of another park using the same coaster name and then trademarking it is extremely low, so KD doesn't have much to worry about here if they don't have a trademark yet.

I'd be INCREDIBLY surprised if that's the name. Not only for the unoriginality of the name itself, but your evidence isn't really that great to definitively claim "that is the name". That trademark is from 1992, when Cedar Fair purchased that park and inherited that ride name.

Twisted Timbers' trademark, for comparison, was filed 5 days before the announcement, and was filed by Kings Dominion themselves, not Cedar Fair. Whatever the actual name is, I would assume that it's not yet been filed; or if it has been filed, it's under some secret entity unaffiliated with Kings Dominion. I would bet the former.

I don’t know if this is entirely true, I’ve seen a couple of trademarks be dead for a couple of different names for the same attraction. I do think you are correct though that they could have applied for one and it’s not active or approved on the site yet.
