I feel like we have to entertain the idea that this COULD POSSIBLY be 2024. Work would need to kick into high gear pretty quickly, but, if it happens, that would be quite a major twist in my book. I had fully expected '25 up until recently. Still think it's probably more likely, but '24 is intriguing for sure. Especially since it seems like it would dodge BGW's next major coaster expected in '25.

Could KD have gotten wind of BGWs coming 2025 coaster and want to get in a full season of "new coaster" attendance boost ahead of BGW?

I am curious, if this is a major coaster for '24, KD is a couple months behind where they should be (based on previous installed major coaster construction time lines at the park). I would have thought 55%-65% land clearing/grading would be complete; with some of the footer prep starting on the site. Maybe the pace of construction will speed up now.

Theme Park Predictions wants a Mondial Avalanche to come to Jungle X in 2024.

If it's a B&M, yes, it's reasonable to believe they could be behind. But what if it's a Gerstlauer or S&S?

I'm seriously wondering if this is just an expansive flat ride package with maybe a small wacky worm type coaster thrown in?

I could see them doing something like, that small wing from before, then a flat package in Jungle X, then another coaster at the very back of the plot that goes outside of the park or something or is compact. If it turns into something like that in the long run that would be awesome. Jungle X badly needs some flats/other rides with the only non roller coaster in the section being Arachnidia.

Not saying that should be prioritized over replacing their signature attraction with a new signature attraction but there are quite a few options if they want to get crazy with it. There’s a lot of walking space in Jungle X you just drop an Air Race or a brewhouse like Kings Island has. Honestly they should put one with a deck over looking Anacondas lake. If this does end up being the Wing layout we saw before I would say to add a positive spin to that possibility:

1. I’ll probably definitely ride it more than Dominator without question so 3rd or 4th best ride in the park for me and a very enjoyable re ridable attraction. I really enjoyed Gatekeeper and Thunderbird last year on my Midwest trip and really want to ride X-Flight as that would be the most similar ride probably to it in the US.

2. It leaves A LOT of space in the area that they could do a lot with to make Jungle X really special over time. They just kick things off with Tumbili and a B&M Wing or whatever other model they selected. Rethemes and Zamperla flags.

One idea I was thinking? Just build a new B&M Hyper with the station at the very back of all that space at the end and have it run along the parking lot and amphitheater areas. Make it taller than all of BGWs rides and that caps off the last phase of Jungle X in 5-10 years. Then idk maybe a nice GCI on the Dinosaurs Alive plot eventually? At that point KD would have 16+ coasters which would be nuts.

Here's a far-fetched idea that won't likely happen:

Dismantle and refurbish Mantis/Rougarou, then retrofit with surf coaster trains themed to some kind of jungle raft thing. Stick it so that parts of it bisect Lake Charles.

Again, not likely to happen.

I’m starting to come to one of Intamin‘s new launched flumes would be nice if they could play well with CF. Just sucks that Intamin has all the cool coaster/water hybrids out there and they aren’t playing well right now.

A water ride would work well in that area, but they would have to tease a coaster in another part of the park for the future to avoid getting their customer base riled up.

Dry-park water rides outside of year-round parks in always-warm states like Florida and Texas strike me as a dying breed. When was the last time CF installed a water ride in one of their dry parks? Given regional parks’ push to become more year-round parks with weather-appropriate events like Winterfest, installing a ride that only gets a few months of operation a year doesn’t seem like it would bring a great return on investment anymore.

Plus, unlike SWSA, KD already has a flume, and I don’t think a launch alone would be enough to differentiate a Catapult Falls-style addition.

Not sure if anyone's talked about this, but is it possible CGA closes in a year or 2 and the volcano replacement is something from CGA? I doubt it but just wanted to bring light to the possibility.

CGA might take a long time to close down as there seems to be some major pushback. But if you gave me the chance to take their coasters, I would take Flight Deck and/or Railblazer. I think everything else is too similar to what’s already at KD.

Yeah, there seems to be a lengthy runway to CGA closing. I doubt they're planning any relocations right now.

Plus alot of the water rides that have been scrapped are from like the 70s and 80s that reached their service lives. Water rides are costly/maintenance

I’ve been entertaining the idea of a Gerstlauer Infinity for a while. But today I started thinking what if they could go with a GCI wooden coaster with Infinity Flyer trains in where Volcano used to be. It could have titan track to do inversions and tight elements in certain areas. The lift hill could also have tubular supports holding it up as shown in the IAAPA model, which would be a sight to see.

But it doesn’t have to be a lift hill. It could have a LAUNCH, as infinity flyers are compatible with that. This is one of the reasons why I think this model is unique. Unlike Twisted Timbers, a steel hybrid that KD already has, this coaster’s track would predominantly be wood. However, due to the sections of titan track it would have wood AND steel track throughout one ride experience. So you would get a feel of both track types. I don’t think the space is too small for something like this, assuming it has a height of around 100’ and a compact layout. I still think about the Gerstlauer possibility though.

How about this? With the success of Grizzly refurb (in so far as it was completed), a ground-up GG wooden coaster? Well, this is what I would want, but I certainly don't expect it to happen. Having 4 wooden coasters would be amazing and would definitely be entirely different than anything even remotely nearby.

I would expect if we did go wood it would be more likely to be a GCI just due to Cedar Fair frequently doing ground up wooden coaster business with them for many years. That said the fact they were allegedly considering a GG for Dorney Park is quite interesting. I honestly woudn't mind a Mystic Timbers-like woodie from GCI or GG going back where those eyesore upcharge attractions sit.
