Blue train did have a wheel blow out about 10 minutes before closing last night. It was the most comically jackhammering ride I've ever had, like Grizzly a few years ago meets the vibrations of one of those movie theater 4D simulators🤣 Needless to say they took blue train off and cleared the remaining queue on just 1 train. Blowing even one wheel a day is probably not ideal, but it seems like they're trending in the right direction.

So, I'm going to throw a curveball, and feel free to eye-roll and dislike me all you want, but COULD all these wheel issues be a possible sign of danger for Pantherian's future? SF might look at these issues, see them as problematic and then just pull the plug. I don't know. I just had this thought.

Not likely the ride has had a history of wheel issues especially in the summer. My understanding isvthat the water sprayers are not functioning correctly fix that so the wheels cool down and the problem likely goes away.

Not to mention, the issue is the wheels themselves, which are extremely easy to source, and often are bought in bulk batches.

Does it use standardized wheels that are common across many rides/manufacturers?
I wouldn’t say common across many rides/manufacturers, but they are a significantly easier part to source than most. Plus, the wheels can get resurfaced I believe it’s up to 3 times (depending on the ride) before they need to be outright replaced.
