Why are the TVs on every time someone shows pictures? Are both trains sitting out uncovered as if they don't care about them like the last time they had lift troubles? After all the problems with the ride the last 2 years, the only excuse for lift motor problems days before season start is they wore it out testing for other problems. I should hope they won't just decide to "close it for 2025" as it would seem worth opening even if only the last weekend, considering the void of Winterfest coming, but with the chain who knows. Am I going to be too old and creaky to ride it by the time it opens?

The TVs are on a timer system that isn't managed by the park.

I could see them keeping it closed till haunt to draw in everyone to haunt so they feel obligated while theyre there to pay the maze upcharge 
Same. We had considered a trip before Haunt so we could ride it as a family, but may just hold off until next spring.
I don't understand the arrangement then, but another company might care their equipment's going to waste. Also if the screens are daisy, chained, you'd still think the 305 queue would be a dead end, since it's located at a dead end. AC cord or breakers could be accessible. But that's only one tiny piece of evidence of the way things work at this place, 2 months of unprotected trains ~10 years ago was much larger. People have to be told what to do, not only do they not take their own initiative to fix things, they would get in trouble if they did. And this is nothing new.

I just assumed those tv’s are on the same breaker as FOF and when they flip the switch they all come on
Spool is still off to the side, frankly nothing obvious has been done to the lift mechanism in a week or so but they’ve also had that tarp over the important bits so it’s hard to say. One thing im happy to see is the panthers on the front of the tunnel finally have a real ledge to sit on, them dangling off was bothering me lol. Also looks like they put a much sturdier rope around the centerpiece which is nice. I imagine all they really have left is the station theming at this point.
Hopefully they can get it running soon, it would be a great bit of advertising for the 2026 season passes though they’ll just open it whenever it’s working. At least whenever this is fixed it should be good for a few years, I mean if this is the first major lift motor refurb in 15 years that’s not too bad.
One can dream this beast goes back to the old lift speed. Millie was faster the beginning of the season. Maybe we will get lucky lol doubt it though
Did it ever slow down? I know there’s a rain mode because wet track makes it run faster but I think otherwise it was full speed.
Deffiently has. Go count a 2010 pov to the top vs now. I think it's like 4 or 5 seconds slower
I synced two POVs, one from opening year and a more recent one as best I could as I was curious myself. I almost forgot how much faster it was in 2010.
Thanks for this. Yea it is mindblowing how fast it used to go up. Even still is technically. Find older 2010/11 videos of it off ride going up vs now.
I don't remember when I noticed it went slower but I would almost be certain it was to to do all they possibly could to help the forces on the bottom turn.
Wow going back and watching, look at how mega slow it crawls into the final brake compared to 2010. Could be a number of reasons but still. Empty train I reckon

I wish I had the chance to ride i305 opening year with a fast lift hill and the og turn.
While this could be part of the reason for the "wet" mode, I believe the real reason is actually because of the anti-rollbacks. On the underneath of the train there is a running wheel that runs on the right side of the catch car trough. As this wheel spins, it lifts the anti rollbacks upwards so the lift is relatively silent. If the lift stops, the rollback tire (not sure of actual term) slows down and the antirollback will fall down into the slots. If the track is wet, these tires have a tough time gripping the track causing the wheel to not spin fast enough to keep the rollback in the up position resulting in the antirollbacks slamming against the slots in the track at such a fast speed. When this happens you can sometimes hear the rollbacks engaging throughout the park. If it gets real bad, maintenance will sometimes shut the ride down to prevent premature wear/ damage. Maintenance does have a special grip tape they can put on the track to help with this, but sometimes even this is not enough.

From what I can vividly remember it really didn't feel that much different. Nothing they changed really fixed that turn. I still greyed out when they put brakes at the bottom of the drop to slow it to 70s lol
Is there a video of this? Lol if it's that lound that would sound kinda cool. I know earlier this season people were posting clips of millie clanking alot going up the lift. I assume it's the same?
I've only witnessed in person, but this is a small example of how loud it is for a short period of time. Go to about :38 second mark. But you can imagine it being that loud the majority of the lift if the grip tape is worn out and if it's wet conditions. MF antirollbacks are similar.
