Commissioning an artist to make concepts just to satiate impatient thoosies is a bad use of their budget. Most people in real life don’t care that much about the rethemeShow artwork of what it will look like completed.

My comparision is in this: I'm more disappointed that they wanted to show it off in the state it's in. The first time people saw Reptilitan/Arachnidia it was done/almost done. The first time people see Panterian it looks like they just started and there's no vision as to what it's going to look like.So you’re comparing how Reptilian and Arachnidia looked on opening day to how Pantherian looks a month before opening? That seems like a wildly unfair comparison.
1 - Apologies as I ninja edited on you.Commissioning an artist to make concepts just to satiate impatient thoosies is a bad use of their budget. Most people in real life don’t care that much about the retheme
This is silly. It was a construction tour. By definition, they are showing things that aren’t done and that will look different on opening day. I don’t understand the discontent here.My comparision is in this: I'm more disappointed that they wanted to show it off in the state it's in. Like I said, I have faith because KD has earned it that it will end up looking much better. To state again: I'm just disappointed they showed it to people looking the way it does because it doesn't look good in its current state IMO.
Plans change. Imagine if they showed artwork of the launch building for Rapterra to the General Public and then radio silence on active construction. Next thing we know, it's March 28th; everyone is going crazy when there no building. Personally, I don't see how progress photos hurt when the final outcome will be the same. People love seeing progress. That's why this board was foaming at the mouth every time new track was installed overnight. It builds excitement when KD post new photos on their blog. No one gave a shit about Arachnida or to a lesser extend, Reptilian as these were smaller rides. The ACE event was mainly to highlight Jungle-X updates. Patherian is still one of cornerstones of the park and matter to a lot of people and was announced ahead of time leading to excitement for the retheme.Show artwork of what it will look like completed, don't allow pictures, talk about the progress made and what's coming. There's many options other than allowing people to see and take pictures.
So I can't share my disappointment in showing it in it's current state and have a differing opinion from people saying how great it looks? This is silly. It was a construction tour. You are absolutely allowed to share your opinion. We are also allowed to call your expectations arbitrary and unrealistic. So I can't share my disappointment in showing it in its current state and have a differing opinion from people saying how great it looks?
Huh? What expectations? That I'm disappointed that they showed it off in it's current state? That I wished they let people have eyes on it when its more completed? What's unrealistic about that. You are absolutely allowed to share your opinion. We are also allowed to call your expectations arbitrary and unrealistic.
I'm curious as to why when I made my original statement you agreed with me and now it seems you don't. Because my stance hasn't changed.Thoosies when parks don't engage with them:

As thoosies, one would hope that we have the understanding required to firewall our opinions of unfinished projects from finished ones. The area could be covered with offensive graffiti right now but as long as it looks good for opening day, so what? It won't impact my opinion of the finished product.
I think I understand the disconnect here.In all seriousness, as I've said, I am concerned about how it is shaping up. They hopefully have a lot more work planned. Since they still have a month though, I'm withholding judgement.
What I really can't fathom is being disappointed that images exist showing the work in progress though. I sincerely hope that is a very fringe position that parks can ignore because, uh, I think a whole lot of us want to see in-progress projects...
Nothing was shared about any of the ongoing projects in Jungle X from what I heard. It wasn't really a tour. It was standing in front of Pantherian for a few minutes, then standing in Rapterra's queue for a few minutes. By definition, it wasn't a true "tour" because there were no guides providing any useful information. It was just standing around and taking pictures.I think I understand the disconnect here.
My disappointment isn't that that it's unfinished, and like I said I agree that I'm withholding judgement. My disappointment is seemingly that they showed off what has been done without there being a concept of what's coming or explanation that it's early in the redesign. (I mean I know we can tell it is - I just guess I disagree that this would be something they should be showing).
To the bolded - I see a difference in pictures existing from construction in the way that we've seen BBW2 vs being invited in to see and existing attraction being redone without there being a good concept presented. And - I may be wrong on that. Maybe @guy305 or @horsesboy or anyone else that was there can shed some light on what was said about the redesign of the area.
