No one finds it odd that it just randomly opened on a Thursday with little fanfare or announcement?

Like I get soft opening happen to test rides but for this to be down as long as it was and get a new name with a new theme they could have made a bigger deal of it.

Other than not fully hearing it at first, it's one reason why I didn't think the announcement on the PA was talking about Pantherian. I originally thought they were talking about another ride like Twisted Timbers as we were near it when it was announced and assumed it went down for a bit. We saw Pantherian testing earlier in the day as it has been the past week and in no way did I think they would just randomly open the ride that late in the day out of nowhere. I too was expecting them to at least announce it on social media about an opening date and have it open with the park on another day. I know the ride is 15 years old so it isn't new, but it's a pretty iconic ride that has been down for a good bit of the season and there's been a lot of anticipation with guests for a re-opening.

They haven't said ANYTHING about it yet. Nothing on their Facebook, Nothing on their YT channel, and nothing on their website. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what they have to say.
EDIT: It's off the Scheduled Ride Closure page

I MUCH prefer that they worked to open it literally as soon as possible, rather than delaying the opening even just by a few days for some “fanfare” that ultimately no one besides enthusiasts would even care about.

It's not even 9am. Give them time. They basically opened the ride yesterday as the inspector was walking away through the tunnel. Making a post late in the day yesterday wouldn't have made an impact. And it's a big corporation - the communication is going to take time to get the specific department that handles social media, website, etc.

It historically hasn't been the most popular, which could explain it. It could also be the fact that the sooner they get it open the sooner they get our money.

I didn’t say anything about delaying it. Just that it opened mid-day without a broader announcement for something they made a big deal of seems underwhelming.

They just reopened it as soon as they possibly could. They couldn't tease or announce anything before the inspection was completed because who knows what could have gone wrong. Right when the inspection was completed, they let people ride.

What KD did here was super pro-consumer and should be applauded.

Ride looks great! Hopefully we get even more theming enhancements during the offseason. I still wish they would have:
1. Removed the wooden fence around the plaza to open up views of Lake Charles and the park (or at least themed the fence like the Rapterra teaser construction fences)
2. Themed the station a bit (wooden boxes, lanterns, ropes, etc would have made a big difference)
3. Changed up the racing flag checker patterned plaza pavers
4. Repainted/themed the maintenance shed building
5. Planted a few more trees around the plaza and exit ramp

Nothing is ever good enough for some people.

Again though, the bolded is not what my reaction is about.

My reaction is that is just...opened. No outside of park announcement, no "coming soon" reminder, or anything like that. I don't know if I would agree it should be applauded, it just....happened. Just strikes me as....boring....for a lack of a better statement.

Like I can tell you what it makes me wonder: is the social media person not working in the park? Are these statements more a general location PR thing than actual in the park? I just personally feel like places like the parks should have someone in park running accounts for updates.

For the record, I feel the same way about DarKoaster reopening the way it did, no announcement, no tweet, just.....opened.
