Controversial opinion incoming, brace yourselves:
I'm actually really excited that Kings Dominion is getting a free spin. Is it perfect? No. But, as Zachary said in the article, it should be unique enough to get Kings Dominion a few extra clicks at the turnstiles next season. After all, the nearest Free Spin is over 4 1/2 hours away, and there is nothing else like it in the Cedar Fair chain. Plus, if enough people come just to ride it and the other coasters, Kings Dominion will get a large influx of cash, and maybe, just maybe, Cedar Fair will see the uptick in numbers and decide to give KD an actual Volcano replacement.

I can confirm that Crypt demo is essentially complete. Some site clearing has reportedly already taken place between the old Crypt area and Avalanche as well.
Honestly, that’s not the best picture because you wouldn’t have been able to see much of Crypt from that angle anyway. You’re looking at the right-hand side of Outer Hanks’ facade, so you would have been able to see a bit of the Crypt’s side just in front of the green part of that building.
The more interesting takeaways from this are that the themed stone/concrete wall behind the ride is gone (as KDFans’ article said would happen), but also that there’s a wooden construction fence that seems to extend around the walkway to the side of the ride. This is the walkway where the elephant statue and old Volcano archway were located, and it wasn’t part of Crypt’s ride area at all. Since they’ve closed off this path, could we see it becoming part of 2021’s ride area?
I think the important aspect of that pic is the implication for the Trash Can Game.

Since I’ve never ridden one of these and I always see complaints about them, are they generally fun? They look appealing to ride for something different.
If "Your Mileage May Vary" was a roller coaster, it'd be an S&S Freespin.
They're not groundbreaking rides for the most part but there are some people out there that actually enjoy these rides enough to marathon them for a few hours.
They're also fairly comfy, like one of the best restraint systems I have experienced. I am saying this about an S&S product of all things...

I know Maxx Force had a bunch of problems in it's inaugural season, but Steel Curtain? That's a surprise, considering how basic of a model it is (powered by chain lift, lap bar only). What problems would arise for a ride so simple in its mechanics?
S&S does their programming in house, Kennywood was not happy with how S&S did that work.
