Press down with your feet as train reaches the bottom. The change of tilt is sudden, one moment you're out of your seat and rotating forward, then it pulls out of the dive right as you land, if not before. The worst example of this issue is the second airtime hill of Ride of Steel, another example is the smaller airtime hills on Apollo (both manufacturers largely eliminated it on later hypers), and a smaller example is Woodstock (knees!).
I will probably just not sit in the back on Backlot, but if for some reason I end up there again I will keep this in mind! I actually have no issues at all on SFA Superman (is that the one you mean?) but then again I always ride that in the front. Superman is front row all day every day! It's best there.

The problem with incorporating FOF (and I305) into the Jungle X-Pedition lore is that the area is supposedly set in 1935. The 90s sci-fi military base theme just doesn’t fit that timeline. I think a better and easier solution would just be to section FOF and I305 off into their own distinct mini-area.
I had those same thoughts on FOF and I-305. I really never believed they were a part of the original Safari section. Throw in a small/medium flat ride or two and make it a stand-alone mini-area.

Andaconda and Backlot Stunt tie more into the new X-pedition area than those other two coasters. Plus, I don't see any impending demise for Andaconda for at least another 4-5 years.

After seeing what Kings Island did with Area 72, I'm definitely not opposed to that happening at KD. Maybe not a full repaint of 305, but maybe a fresh coat of red paint for the track & white/grey supports? But I guess that would depend on what happens first; they just stop paying for the Intimidator license. or I305 reaches the end of its service life (which I have no idea how long that is, but I'd kind of be surprised if it makes it too long past 20 years).

I don't think service life will be a major concern for quite some time, Intamin bulked up the support systems for the ride including the double spine. It'd be more if the park wanted a major change, and had the capex funds available to make it.

A repaint and losing the licensing, on the other hand, seems far more feasible.

If they drop the Intimidator license, I wouldn't be surprised at all if that area got an Area 72-style redo and I305 was given some sort of space theme. They could definitely recycle a lot of the planning and designs from KI.

If they're stuck with the Intimidator branding for a while, even a generic "Americana" themed area would at least give the space an overarching identity and would help separate it from Jungle X-Pedition.

Except isn't CAG essentially the Americana area of the park... So it'd be confusing to have two?

Is there anyway to find out if the use of the Intimidator license is actually only available for a finite amount of time? I definitely think I305 needs a repaint and agree if they painted the supports white that wouldn't look bad honestly.

I’ve heard rumors for YEARS about the Intimidator theming being dropped from 305, but nothing ever seems to come to fruition. I, too, am curious if there’s any concrete way to know.

Considering Millennium Force is still running strong more than 20 years later, I can't see why I305 wouldnt have a decent shelf life left.

I agree that they should do what they did at Kings Island with Orion. Turn the area into Area 75 alien zone. Retheme i305 to space, add a themed small food stand, some themed lighting and props and KD has a new area that makes sense.

Area 72 at Kings Island isn’t big, but it feels nice. Except for the lack of shade. But the theming is nice.

There actually is! It's the car that normally sits in the front entrance. Its livery is something that apparently can only be supplied by Richard Childress Racing, but the problem with using it as a gauge is that it sits out in the summer sun so much that the car can look pretty nasty after a few years. The branding deal is I'm pretty sure a joint thing between Theresa Earnhardt and RCR, because Theresa owns the Intimidator brand and RCR owns the rights to use the 3 paint scheme. So if one of the pieces disappear the whole deal does.

I’m pretty sure that car was gone for the entire 2021 season. Maybe it was getting refurbished though and they have an agreement with Earnhardt that the car has to be in good shape while it’s on display.

Yeah it disappeared for a few months in 2018 as well because the decals got sun baked so badly. Typically Kings Dominion doesn't do a good job of hiding it because I remember the car sitting in the maintenance area when I was stuck on the observation deck of Eiffel most of the summer.
