I wonder what kind of views you will get from racer 75 of the site. Ill find out tomorrow I guess.

I’m curious as to how sitting and oxidation effects these structural parts given there’s plenty of exposed raw metal.

Blame COVID, a lot of the 2020 Six Flags projects have been pushed back to 2022 because the construction crews cannot travel to assemble the rides.

While that makes sense in the surface, I would think that the pieces wouldn't be shipped to the park until there's a solid installation timeline established.

Knowing that those pieces were shipped and received while the park was shuttered due to the pandemic must have brought a heavy dose of uncertainty to the process. So why would KD have wanted to tip their hand as to what they're installing this early (not to mention giving it the custom paint job after it arrived)?

Probably because the order was put in before they were aware of how far reaching this pandemic has gone.

Brand new coasters have sat in lots like this for months before without many people freaking out. Hell Merlin's Mayhem sat in a grass lot near Dutch Wonderland for quite a while without much of a stink being made about it.

Remember, COVID fucked a lot of things up. Don't expect things to progress normally for the next few years because basically everyone from all facets of the industry is playing it by ear.

I just want to say that this is just a rumor and is not confirmed, even if it was most likely what s&s is talking about is that it would be a lot harder to have the coaster up and ready to open by KD's opening day so it would be wiser to open it for 2022

KD also might not be in any rush to get the ride open. They already have Coconut Shores to advertise as their new attraction in 2021, so maybe they don't want that and the new coaster competing for headlines in their marketing. If they hold off on this project for a year, they'll already have their "new for 2022" project taken care of.

I cant totally see this being a Possibility Expressionlessly if drachen spire is canceled/pushed back, this would allow KD to put in a new coaster with out having any competition

One thing I noticed at HersheyPark this summer is they really had to work to get attendance back up and Candymonium likely helped quite a bit in making that happen. KD will likely have the same problem in that they'll need to get their customer base to return and simply opening the gates is likely insufficient. Based on the prospective vaccine schedules, at least the first half of 2021 is going to be a grind, so if this ride can be in place for 2021 that's going to help marketing even if there's competition down the road.

I actually disagree with this, I was at KD this weekend and the park was packed ever thing hade a line dominator, rebel yell, heck even the boardwalk fries hade a line. I thank KD is going to do fine with attendance just simply because they are about a hour away from BGW and the GP wouldn't drive 1 or 2 hours just to go to a theme park when they have one that's closer by.

We went to KD the first open weekend and I wouldn't describe it as remotely packed though all the season ticket slots were sold out. The only reason the rides had lines is they severely cut back on capacity and added in protocols which greatly lowered throughput on rides - 60-75% by my guess.

The issue KD is going to have, along with BGW, is that their customer base has just spent a year not visiting the parks and has developed new habits and activities they do that aren't KD. Getting those customers to come back involves more than just opening the gates. It means a lot of marketing, promotions, and other actions to get people back in the park, and new rides help in that department. Hershey's took a good 2-3 months to get back to a more normal attendance and it involved a lot of marketing and sales to do it. KD and BGW are going to have to go through the same pains to get their customer bases back so opening a new ride up is a good tool in that process.
