Headed to the park on Saturday-obviously there's gonna be a line, but what would be the best strategy for getting as close to the front of the said line as possible since I know the Italy areas open later than the rest of the park. Should we hop on something else first or just head straight for the gate?
I can report what I experienced on Sunday, with the disclaimer that I think Sunday crowds (especially at park open) were much lower than Friday (or I presume Saturday), and I'm guessing this coming weekend will be higher in general than last weekend. Anyway: I made it through security ca 10 minutes after park open and booked it for Pantheon, arriving ca 15 min after park open. The posted wait time was 22 minutes; I think actual was a bit more. When we got off, it was posting 35. We came back for a re-ride around 1pm and it was again saying ca 20 minutes, though the line was slightly longer than we experienced in the morning.

I'd say, as temperamental as it is, get it while the getting's good! In general, there's less wind in early morning than later in the day, so I sure wouldn't wait too long.

Did anyone bother venturing over for the member night? I skipped given the forecast, but was curious if they still held it, and if so, what the crowd size was.
Pretty sure it was cancelled. The park looked basically closed a little after 7 when I was driving through the area.

Does anyone know where the policy of pulling up on the restraint came from? I don't understand why the sensor will show it verifying as green but you can only ride if it doesn't change to red after they yank up on it. Do other Intamin rides with the same train have to do that? I know Velocicoaster does not. It seems like a bit of a design flaw and one that slows down ops considerably.
For the record, push down, pull up is a normal policy across all parks for checking harnesses. A really good example is Disney. The operator will normally ask you to push up on your harness when they're checking.

On B&Ms, you can generally tell the harness is locked by pushing down on it, however the operator is still technically supposed to pull up on it to make sure its secure.

Pantheon is a weird case though. I've never been on a ride that fickle with the seat sensor. I've seen some pretty small people have to take the walk of shame on it on a number of occasions. From what I've been told, Velocicoaster has a physical marker on the lapbar indicating its down all the way. Pantheon uses a sensor. Both coasters can be pretty fickle with larger guests though. If you're right on the line, make sure you have nothing bulky in your pockets. That can trip the sensor really easily.

Gonna be real, I thought the queue and station looked fine in person. Also, the operations are fast enough where I’m not dreading being in line anyways.

I know a lot of folks have been frustrated by the wind restrictions. Keep in mind, in Coastal Virginia and most of the US, March and April are the windiest months, on average. This is from the National Climatic Data Center and while Williamsburg isn't on the list, Norfolk and Richmond are. These are the average wind speeds, per month, in MPH. We shouldn't see as many issues with wind shut downs once we get past April.

The link above also has other great weather info, like "Mean Number of Days over 90°."

I noticed that there are still lights near Pantheon. Are these new or are these just leftover from the opening?
