What gives, like really? All of SEAS competition seems to be opening rides just fine this year under the same circumstances as SEAS?

Didn't SEAS have a stellar year in 2020, that put SEAS in a better position than it's competition?

The goal post is ever moving on Pantheon, hopefully someday we get the truth on why.
It's actually worth noting how little the goal post has moved recently. It has been essentially the same situation with the same most plausible explanation for a while now. This thread provides a handy bundle of documentation to that effect.

Today while waiting for the train the person at the station says lets do trivia since the train is taking longer than expected. I wasnt paying much attentin since I was sidetracked with HHN anouncements......but then he mentions Pantheon and I though....way to rub it in guests faces.
Yea, that's kinda a crap move to do.

Maybe you do or don't know the answer or someone can if they know:
Are the train station attendants in the station or the other train attendants on the train working from a script with things to read or are they purely riffing? Honestly, I know it's annoying for the employees but I rather hear a pre-recorded loop. Maybe of 5-8 different things that have factoids about BGW that plays as you ride.

Not really Pantheon has went from coming in 2020,2021, anticipated 2021, staffing shortages, SEAS business decision, inspections, now the general consensus seems to be SEAS will open Pantheon 2022, and that isn't solid or backed officially.

The goal post has moved as much as it ever has, considering we're now jumping a whole year ahead LoL 😂. AGAIN 😳

Btw the plausible theories don't hold water when SEAS direct competition, is enduring the same circumstances as SEAS. All the while opening new rides and offering new events, right as we speak.

I was just in the park this past week and as much as I want to see this ride open, the park is NOT ready. They have so many things to focus on and extra crowds will further destroy the reputation. I am giving SEAS a pass for not opening it, but what I am NOT giving them a pass for is radio silence to passholders. I don't necessarily think members are entitled per say, we are only entitled because there was an expectation set a while ago. Things change and they are allowed to change.

True, my main beef was with SEAS silence, but it to the point now. It is what it is.

When I worked there, other than the required safety spiels, everything was non-scripted. I actually came up with my own spiels for both stationmasters and conductors and shared them with the crew that year. I even was approached once by entertainment for recording new spiels for on the train, but that never ended up materializing.

On the train there are pre recorded loops for each section but many times and its usually the same people either dont use them and do their own or will interupt them halfway through to talk about something. Ive been on the train a few times when they will start jumping through loops like they are behine and have to catch them up, I assume that when they switch persons at the back of the train if the person or persons before them didnt use the loops they have to get them caught up if they want to use them.
But the mention of Pantheon yesterday was in the Caribou station. Not sure how long it had been but I was just sitting down at the table closest to the side of the Pottery store as a train was leaving caribou. I ate, caught up on some things on my phone then walked over and got in line for the train and still waited over 20 minutes before a train arrived so I guess he was just trying to stall people who were getting grumpy from such a long wait.

The pre-recorded spiels have very basic controls, just a start, stop, forward, and back. There is also no way to know where you are at in the list unless you are paying attention to them. If someone misses one, you have to just keep hitting play/stop until you're caught up.

They will also stop the train if emergency vehicles are in the park, but that's a conversation for the train thread.

Not sure what you mean by "goal post" then, as by way of describing it you're commingling pre- and post-pandemic target dates, pandemic-specific operating effects, business optimization decisions, and routine steps in the development and opening of a ride, and calling it all a "moving goal post." 🤷‍♂️

It looks to me like generalized frustration in search of a clear villain. Maybe that's why it continues, despite the continued absence of a clear villain.

There have really only been two major moving pieces driving the discussion-relevant bits of this Pantheon saga: a globally rampaging viral contagion upending all aspects of our individual and collective lives by killing and maiming millions, and business decisions based on a present and projected future which have absolutely no data-driven or experiential precedent whatsoever during our lifetimes.

Little wonder that different businesses handle that differently. Maybe next time they'll standardize for our convenience...?

A goal post metaphor doesn't really apply, IMO. Multiple leagues' fields of play were nailed by a major earthquake, and each stadium must return to play according to their own respective damage assessments, gameday schedules, and repair plans.
