Drove by this afternoon and the crane was in a different position than all weekend. No clue if that means they are back to work but it seems like it's either that or it was part of the investigation. I do think it's more likely that construction is back up. There could have been very little to investigate if it was shown that the contractor was injured while wearing the proper safety equipment and all other safety guidelines were followed.
Actually that would normally mean more to investigate as that would mean there was likely a critical failure of something bbn or some inadequate procedure. Either of which would need to be rectified. The answer is the might be back to work or they may have moved it for any number of reasons. I try to drive past tomorrow and see if anything looks different it's not that far out of my way.

Drove by the park twice today while out. Both times the crane was facing different directions. The first time was this morning and it was facing towards the top hat area. The second time was late this afternoon and it was facing towards the spike. I think they are back to work

Yes, I got confirmation of this from someone I know who works at the park. They said construction was halted for two days and now they're back at it.

I also got confirmation from someone who works at the park that construction had resumed.

Also and let me stress this is RUMOR not hard news. But the info/gossip being spread amongst park employees is that the guy that fell is alive and stable but likely facing one or more amputations as a result of crushed bones that can't be repaired. Also the scuttlebutt is that the fall was found to be a result of him failing to properly secure and check his safety line causing it to not preform as intended. Basically my understanding was the line saved him from a harder more lethal fall but had more room on it then it should have allowing him to fall and hit something other the the ground. Again this is rumor passed on from a friend of a friend of a friend and may be partly true, all true, or completely false.

Sourcing anything on this story has been next to impossible. It doesn't seem that anyone wants to talk.

Hopefully what you've heard is correct though @horsesboy. That would be a much better scenario.

I have heard a similar story.

This is likely because it's a contractor that is involved in the investigation. Most people at the park probably have no idea what is happening with the investigation as no one at the park was likely involved in it. All we probably are hearing is just rumors that may or may not be true.

That's one twisted hunk of metal for an Intamin tophat compared to the usual support system.
