I’m just curious, why is there an embargo? Everyone knows this is a StarFlyer what is the park going to do? Announce a multi-launch Intamin coaster with world first elements? Yeah, in your dreams. BGW would never work with Intamin.
Everyone doesn't know that. We think we know that but there is a chance that it could be wrong even if it's 0.0001 percent. Also just because fan site readers know it doesn't mean the GP know it. I would guess that 99 percent of the population doesn't. WE also don't know items like theming and other stuff that may be in the announcement.

When opportunity falls into your lap... BGWFans may be the only ‘media’ there.

THIS is BWGFans.

True, the scheduling certainly sucks. I assume local media has the advance press kit (embargo-speak) which may or may not have a NL2-style POV (don't expect a confirmation re: embargo). And, if SEAS/BGW does this right, the PR people should be scrambling to have drone footage, Kevin stand-up, etc. ready to distribute to counter the news competition.

So the media goes see The Orange One then drives down Rt 60 to the sign at the 60/employee entrance intersection and does a quickie standup with the POV, drone footage and still pictures as "B-roll”.

All the enthusiast groups are gonna be there at least. News will break one way or another.

Personally due to airspace laws when the president is within a certain distance, I wouldn’t get too many hopes up for a drone shot.

Seems like pretty rough timing here BGW...

This can't be good for local news coverage of MMXX at all.

I'm sure someone's in trouble. Although guess how much to show how little people care about The historical sites. This is literally the first I've heard about this. Trump is big national news but his visit is a small news story. I have no doubt that all the local places are hitting up both with different crews and both should get a lot of coverage. In fact unless Trump said something crazy I think BGW might be the lead story still.

You misunderstood. I said if SEAS had their act together, they'll already (or before Monday pm) have the drone footage and provided it to the media for editing, etc. I'd assume (embargo in place, I know) that such footage would be part of the presentation, so, if people are going to the actual site, they'll be able to envision what's taking place.

Re: planning around the schedule conflict...

As documented in numerous places on this site, many of us, myself included, believe the park to be very "DuckDuckGo-challenged," whether regarding attraction naming/themeing and avoiding tone deaf historical/cultural insensitivities, or, perhaps a 400th anniversary representative government celebration that isn't exactly an everyday occurrence that somehow snuck up on them. The event has been planned for some time, along with a series of 400th anniversaries since 2007 and which adorn our VA license plates... Even if planning is due to corporate/SEAS and could be dismissed as not in tune with local/Hampton Roads activities, this event has made national news for a while because of the "controversy" of potus attending...

Timing of Kevin Lembke‘s departure probably didn’t help with announcement scheduling.
