I think it depends how it's presented. I think that Hercules: Trials of the Gods can be really cool and fit the teasers. It puts stories to why all the elements and part of the ride are there. If it's a generic "Roman Demigod Hercules", then yes its boring. Like to me, Griffin is the most boring naming in the park because I'm not even sure that there is a story there with it.
It's also conceivable that BGW will run with a more generic name (e.g. a 'Maximus'), and appropriate the story of Hercules as the ride's quest.
I'm still hanging with a winged, Mercury being the theme of the train regardless of coaster name.

I mean it like this, everyone knows Hercules. Since I doubt there is going to be much theming to the coaster, I wouldn't expect he would be used in any major way besides as a mascot. With that assumption, we already have a coaster with a generic Roman beefy dude (Apollo) in the same section of the park. Roman mythology is filled with all sorts of interesting heros, monsters, gods, ECT. I think it would be a missed opportunity to just pick some strong dude who happens to be the most well known.

The name better not be that long

I just hope it's not Hercules because it's boring. Hercules is also Greek, not Roman. However, I'm not putting it past a park that has a restaurant named "O' Taters" to name it something totally wrong an inappropriate.
Hercules is Roman wtf are you talking about?

In the end does it really matter that much? Or is there a rule no one knows of?

It’s a tagline to a coaster name. Not like people won’t ride it because of the name.

Lemme guess: Volcano the Blast Coaster and Backlot Stunt Coaster are way too long too?
