What are the current and most likely rumors?
I've heard rumors claiming it's everything from a B&M giga to a FunTime StarFlyer. Frankly, I wouldn't bet on any of those being true at this point. I know it's not as flashy and interesting as what other sites are publishing right now, but I still believe
BGWFans' dedicated Project Madrid page is the best source as for what is "most likely."
A 300 feet multi launch shuttle like Wicked Twister (Cedar Point) for example or
a coaster with a full circuit AND a multi launch like Soaring with Dragon?
The "leaked" sides that have been circulated to seemingly every enthusiast site on the planet appear to depict an attraction that is
very similar to
Soaring with Dragon at Hefei Wanda Theme Park. I can make out a
very tall spire and a handful of other large elements (namely what look to be overbanked turns and maybe one of those wacky-looking top hats as is featured on Soaring with Dragon).
It is very important to note that there is likely a good reason none of the other sites have put out photos of these slides yet. From what I can gather, everyone has the same images I've seen and they are
not high-quality. In fact, the way in which these photos were taken almost directly suggests that the "leaker" is attempting to obfuscate details in the slides. This is a
huge red flag to me.
In this same vein, despite seeming to want to obfuscate the content they are supposedly "leaking," the "leaker" has done
nothing to hide their own identity. That's a second
huge red flag in my mind.
How do 76mph and 300 feet match?
I don't think it does, but someone with more engineering experience than I should do a deeper dive into that topic.
The PowerPoint slide simply lists 76MPH as a bullet point. There is nothing to suggest what that speed is actually referring to (which is incredibly odd in and of itself).
Is a traditional Giga out of question?
Most certainly not. Rumors that I've heard (and never previously reported on) inside the park have actually been swinging more and more towards the direction of a traditional giga coaster. That said,
these are rumors.
Nothing more. The content
listed here is
by far the best guide.
"doesn't seem to match up very well with what BGWFans had been publishing about the project." I'm assuming you mean on the project page blog and not forum speculation? If so, does this rule out a giga?
Like I said before, the quality of these images is
trash. Because of that, it's really hard to make out details in the concept images. If I squint really, really hard I may be able to see the Rhine River turn suggested by the RPA impacts map,
here, but I'm far from certain. Plus, the spire (by far the highest point of the ride judging by the concept images) is on the opposite corner of the site as what I (and I think many others?) was expecting (I would estimate that this concept art would put the spire really close to Festa Station, but it is
very hard to tell).
Based on the specs (especially height requirement) does the word "family" not really apply?
Does the slide/concept art show the approximate locations of the spire and final drop? If so, do they match up with the footer locations shown on the one plan approval?
I have no idea how a 300+ -ish foot tall multi-launch shuttle coaster with a top speed of 76 MPH and a height requirement of 54 inches could possibly, in any world, be a "Family Coaster" but, truthfully, stupidity and ineptitude seem to be a plague upon the amusement industry at times. I wouldn't put it past SEAS to market a huge thrill ride that way. It's a deeply bizarre claim for sure, but honestly, there's a world in which this is one of the better arguments to say that the presentation is real. If some teenage enthusiast was creating this presentation to troll enthusiast sites, I can't imagine them calling this ride a "Family Thrill Coaster."
You can see why dealing with this content has been so hard (and you all only know the tip of the iceberg to be honest). There are parts of it that I haven't talked about yet that make the slide deck seem frighteningly real. There are other parts (presentation of the content, method of distribution, sloppy wording, etc) that make it much harder to believe. It's a deeply frustrating piece of content.
Are "final drop" and "max speed" visibility the same location on the track? Or, could the max speed be in one place (the spire, as example) and the drop being the river? Technically both would be visible from the bridge.
Correct. Both the spire and,
if there is a final drop (again, maybe I can spot one if I squint), the final drop, would be visible from the San Marco/Oktoberfest bridge. There's nothing in the slides to say that the "max speed" and the "final drop" both have to be the same segment of track.
