If this isn't a Spanish Hamlet and theme elements, and just more Italy, I would love to see it called Cacus.

Cacus is a beast who is the son of Vulcan (Roman version of Hephaestus), said to be a giant, features like a human, breaths fire out of a dragon head, with a lower body like a snake. Just a huge scary beast.

But alas it will be something silly and about Ghengas Khan fighting in Venice.

Hopefully they choose a better name lol

I actually think "Malocchio" has a sleek and fearsome name tbh. Thematically, it is an intriguing concept. "Malocchio" is an Italian myth dating back to ancient Rome about a supernatural "evil eye" that curses mortals with bad luck. More on Malocchio here.

I know @Sly4Good's emphasis was on the (excellent) artwork, not the name, but props nonetheless for coming up with such a striking theme concept that carries on the park's old mythological coaster theme tradition. Doesn't this look fitting, both for BGW's Italy and for a terrifying theme for a giga?

I honestly think Malocchio would be a great name; it ties in the theme of the hamlet, it goes along with this mythological concept a lot of the other large coasters in the park has, it's bold, it's unique, and depending on how 'record breaking' this ride could be, could also play onto the fact that a Malocchio causes jealousy and envy in whoever gazes upon it.

But then again I'm also not that good with names and am probably looking too deep into it. This is just meant to be a 'what if' representation after all!!

It sounds to chocolate-y imo. I still hope it’s a Spain expansion.

I dunno, I for one would love to ride a roller coaster called Chicken Alfredo.

Anyways no matter Madrid ends up actually being, I'm wondering just how it'll affect the skyline from the parking lot because one thing that is for certain is that this thing is massive.

I can hardly wait for the Hemingway's in the Marketing Dept. coming up with an epic story. As a kid I always enjoyed the Fractured Fairy Tales TV show.

In regards to a name, I agree return to the old days with a mythical name. Perhaps an Italian mythical name such as "Thyrus", "one of the most famous dragons of Italian folklore, a river's dragon that besieged Terni in the Middle Ages."

That...looks...fun!
That’s what we need. In the like of Drachen Fire...a big buffet of elements and lots of fun.

I’m over this short and sweet trend. Make it long, good hills, good air, some twists and inversions...a little bit of everything. That’s what the Behemoth video showed. I for one would love it.
I always think of the wasted kinetic energy...and fun...of a roller coaster like Griffon or InvadR barreling in at 70mph and feeling like Bugs Bunny hitting a brick wall.

This gets my vote!

To be clear, if someone can figure out a reasonable way to piece together...
  • A 315 Foot Height (Height Waiver Filed with JCC)
  • The Partial Site Plan (Filed with JCC)
  • A 76 MPH Top Speed (Claim from WildGravityTravels)
  • A "Final Drop" Over the Rhine (Claim from WildGravityTravels & Suggested by the Partial Site Plan)
...into a single, plausible coaster, more power to you!

If such a possibility doesn't exist though, we have to start evaluating the validity of each of those data points.

I can't work with NoLimits all that well but you can't rule out a launched lift hill to 315 feet and then a trimmed drop for 76 mph speeds ala 2010 Intrimidator 305.

Lightning Rod wasn't the first ride proposed to have an LSM launched lift hill, Helix had an original proposal that was something in the neighborhood of 250 feet tall and featured an inversion quite like a Flying Snake Dive.

Now if you ask me, I'm not into snorting the kind of stuff that can result in this kind of idea to get made.

Yeah there is no way a launch that’s 315 feet tall is 76 mph lol. Maxx Force is 175 ft tall and that goes 78.

@b.mac Bruh with a launched lift hill that would require some severe, severe, state of the art trimming to get it down to 76. Lightning Rod goes 73 with a 165 ft drop.
