Trust quality German over-engineering.

Also y'all are sleeping hardcore on Vekoma, who's gone through a monsterous metamorphasis in the past 5 or so years. I would not be surprised at all if they decided they wanted to take a shot at B&M and Intamin.

Vekoma is far ahead of S&S

Why would you ever build an S&S coaster when you can get an Intamin for the somehow better reliability and a waaaaay better ride experience? Or an RMC for what would be the same price?

I don’t think anybody is going to be excited for a ride similar to an infamous failure up the road.

Theme park corporations do not decide on what manufacturers to use based on what enthusiasts want. The general public also has absolutely no idea that Hypersonic XLC and whatever potential S&S coasters BGW builds would have any relation whatsoever. Regardless just because the park wants to build an S&S Screamin Swing means nothing for Project Madrid or any future coasters for the time being. We had no reason to believe a Premier Sky Rocket II or a GCI wooden coaster would show up here before their developments.

Because S&S has such a fantastic coaster reputation in the industry...

(Also you underestimate the GP’s knowledge).

What? Where does my post say anything about the reputation S&S has with theme park companies? Unless they build a ride that looks and runs exactly like Hypersonic XLC the general public will not recognize any similarities between the two rides. I am not doubting the general publics "knowledge" but you won't find many general folks that have any idea WTF a B&M Hyper is outside of roller coaster forums. People do identify similarities between certain coasters for sure but also many people don't go to more than 1 or 2 regional amusement parks at all.

I have no opinion on S&S/Sansei coasters. I have very limited thoughts on maybe one or two, which is too small of a sample size to offer a judgement.

Question though is can they pull off a 315' attraction, and would that be too far over their skies for a major park (parent struggles and S&S business building notwithstanding) to make a major investment in it?

Unless the S&S speculation is on what else could to built in a theoretical Madrid hamlet or in general elsewhere, which is fine and/or may deserve it's own topic, but the only data available is the maximum height of an unspecified attraction that S&S assumingly would have to support.

They’re not dumb and parks know they’re not dumb. Anyone who has been to KD since before 2007 knows what Hypersonic XLC is and looks like. They figured out that Twisted Timbers was Hurler with steel track from the beginning.

I pray that S&S isn’t involved in Project Madrid. Their last large project was the largest failure in coaster history (Ring Racer).

Ring Racer is SBNO because the racetrack was sold and the new owners thought it would not be profitable to operate. They couldn't operate it if there was a race going on, and the shopping/entertainment complex it was supposed to be a part of never took off.

Well, fortunate then that there isn't any data to support that they are. I see how S&S is germane to the Project 2019 thread, but less so Project Madrid...unless one thinks that BGW has confidence that S&S could deliver some sort of unspecified attraction that could warrant the height waiver, and there doesn't seem to be much evidence to support S&S is a good fit for that either.

So perhaps a S&S Coaster merits topic move to Next Coaster Type?

Yeah those meetings where they decide what capital assets to purchase for their properties probably don't have sentences like "Oh man an RMC on the hill would be soooo cool it would have so much airtime." "Totally that would be so much cooler than a lame S&S Free Spin." "Dude lets build a B&M Giga like Fury 325 the enthusiasts would love that." It's more like "I believe an S&S Free Spin/Premier Sky Rocket II would increase attendance by 2% for a relatively low cost." "I agree that could increase revenues at this property by reasonable margin to be worth the cost."

S&S free spins and Premiere Skyrocket II's are the Vekoma SLC of the modern day. Every park will pick up one because it's cheap, adds to your coaster collection, and is a generally well received from the public ride.

I don’t know anyone who likes the free spins. People avoid Joker like the plague at Great Adventure.

I'd call them the modern Boomerangs, because of the footprint being minimal and not just small, as well as the rides offering novel mechanics, but agree with everything else.

Gerstlauer Euro-Fighters are the modern SLCs: Small-footprint full-circuit looping rides.
