Then target Disney who announced Tron and GotG 3 years ago and still haven't even finished building them rather than a regional theme park that in town is opening a much smaller coaster, the one down the road that is opening a really different ride, and one about 800 miles away.

I assume that shot is more at BGT but even then it feels, as @halfabee said, low rent.
This is such a false equivalence it’s hilarious, they never promised those attractions were coming any time soon when they announced them

There better be some good rewards for members, but I’m sure they’re gonna let us down with just a preview day 2 weeks ahead of time and a kid sized hat that says pantheon 2021.

Nothing says do your own thing like forcing your new ride to sit sbno for a year.

I'm not trying to pile on you or anything. I get what you're saying and it's a good dig, but holy crap SEAS has shitty corporate direction.
I honestly think the decision was fine when parks had restricted crowd limits. But when things were fully opened and the line became “when things aren’t busy” then it’s a shit excuse. And it seemed to come from a board who cared about profits over generating excitement.

Yeah I feel for the park employees who have had to absorb literally everyone's complaining about the ride not being open and they didn't make that decision some rich dudes in an office building did.

I mean that's just how everything is sometimes......

The "when things aren't busy" strategy is the one I have a real hard time with considering most the SEAS parks have numerous levers they can pull to drive demand beyond a new coaster - i.e. events, concerts, ticket sales, shows, etc. It just seems like someone in corporate overthinking things to where they get themselves into this scenario that they aren't utilizing their new investments to drive more spend, and frankly even if a park is busy, there's nothing wrong with making it busier and driving more incremental income.

Exactly. Disney works at their own pace and never make promises when rides will open. D23 made an announcement at the beginning of the year and removed Tron and GotG from their 2021 release schedule. And considering all the other major projects going on at all the parks and resorts right now they have their hands extremely full with stuff like the World Showcase makeover and new Fireworks show at Epcot, new Fireworks show at MK, Star Wars Hotel at DHS, etc just to name a few.

And to be honest I don't even know why Disney was even mentioned here. It was Universal that threw shade at SEAS, not the Mouse!

Random question; but, have any of the plantings around Pantheon started to “branch” out? Last pics I saw show not much grass in the track area... but just.... dirt🤦🏻 Very ugly... they truly missed a opportunity with theming but I don’t want to see a big open dirt field in the middle of what’s supposed to be “ the worlds most beautiful park”. Any idea what the big rock in the queue area has evolved into? Also; weren’t some of the animals supposed to be closer to the queue area as well?

Even though we knew it wasn’t opening, it’s sad to see that Busch has officially ripped the band aid off a 6 month old wound. Waste of a membership, if you bought it for this.

Well the Florida parks are letting people who had memberships in 2019 but have since cancelled register for some sort of ride opportunity. I think it’s just opening a new can of worms if they can only ride it a few times when the membership was for a longer period.

BGW will probably do something similar, like let the members start 5 feet further ahead on the rope drop on opening day

I'll go back to screen shot it, but in their comments BGW responded saying the Pantheon Fast Pass you had in 2020 for the OG planned opening is still good when it does open.

EDIT:
Instead of double posting, I'm going to just edit and add this.

I absolutely have issues with the communication from SEAS regarding the new attractions. I absolutely think they should be open already. And what I'm going to say isn't a defense of SEAS but rather is something they could have communicated and softened the blow.

#1 - They should have never said "Anticipated opening 2021". They should have used some other language. Something like "Coming Soon" or "Closed due to park conditions". Just something else.

#2 - Back when they were under a cap on guests, they should have had a definitive list of what's closed, and not wavered off of it. Put Pantheon, Roman Rapids, BfE, and a few others on there. Especially if you keep them all closed then it's an easy communication. But continuing to use this excuse post cap lifted never made sense to me because it's impossible to have a good line of when it's ok because crowd sizes can fluctuate so much. But that brings me to....

#3 - I really think they could have gotten away to some degree with blaming the employment crunch. Actually, the fact that they never (to my knowledge) sent anything to at least members that acknowledges the employment crunch and asks for patience. Again not saying that it makes it ok to keep it closed, but I see complaints at least once a week about the staffing.

#4 - Again, maybe they should have done a "state of the union" on BGW or each park specific to the members some time in the season to communicate what is going on in the park. And here they, again, could have softened the blow by saying that there's a chance that Pantheon/Ice Breaker/Emporer/Iron Gwazi could open in 2022. Especially with all of that in the above, they could have laid out that they were limited in what they can open, we're under an employment crunch, and due to that there's many things that were planned that didn't happen.

The only thing that could have made Pantheon not being open a little more reasonable is if BGW/SEAS cancelled all events (Wine and Food, Summer Nights, and things like that); if they weren't starting all new haunts and houses for HOS; if the didn't bring back different entertainment (at the minimum traded out for other ones). If they didn't do those things that would bring in new business, again, not opening Pantheon can be a little more understood that they just couldn't do anything new from a money/staffing position.

My complete uninformed take:
Because of 2020 they cancelled 2021 projects, pushed back 2022 projects with the way 2022 went, realized they had nothing new to bring in 2022 and decided to open the unopened coasters in 2022 to buy themselves time to come up with 2023 projects. Would not shock me t all id that happened.
