Not to complain, but it's really frustrating that this is the first year possibly ever that I'm visiting BGW, BGT, and SWO all in one year and that there's a very good chance none of their new coasters will be open. I'll still get a few new credits at T and O, but LOL. You have to laugh at a point.

so now the only thing left is the building final and then it can open? or does the amusement device inspection still have to be completed

I should clarify, I don’t see a 2021 opening at all…..but if there were anything that previously involved getting rides on a new coaster (Invadr) coming up, if it wasn’t opened for that there’s really no other time this year.

What does Invadr have anything to do with this

Coasting for Kids is coming up this summer, its a great event that will give the park free nationwide advertisement targeted at coaster fans. When Invadr opened that was their big draw that year. If the park sees no point of having it for them then dont expect them to open it for the regular park guests.

My issue is with the word Anticipated. If they know they aren't opening this year, or even doubt it, that's a straight up lie. Done for optics and sales. If that's the case they will be sued again and lose. Wouldn't be the first time they've lost a suit to pass members either. The plan to hold off is financially sound, but they should be honest and clear about those intentions. Bring duplicitous is at best a terrible way to treat your members, and also probably lying to inflate sales.

It almost assuredly wasn't a lie when they made the advert.

You see, they makes these, not really for you; but for news agencies in the form of press releases...

Even if it's less likely that they open it this year, they won't make a new press release until they know for sure.

an·tic·i·pate

/anˈtisəˌpāt/

verb

1. to regard as probable; expect or predict.
"she anticipated scorn on her return to the theater"

If something doesn't happen when it was anticipated to happen, there is no fault. If the weatherman says that he does not anticipate rain tomorrow, and it does, he wasn't lying; he was just wrong.

And I'm not taking sides on the issue of right/wrong, since there is no way to know (short of someone hacking inter-company emails) what the park (or SEAS) actually does or does not know or plan to do.

If anything, using the word "anticipate" was a really intelligent choice. It's vague enough so that no matter the outcome, it's no one's "fault"; just the outcome.

That said, I have a hard time believing they don't have a firm plan set by this point. What sucks is the lack of transparency.

They may not do a new press release, but they could update the website. This isn't the same as just taking to a buddy about something. When something affects the performance of a publicly traded company it must be accurate. Otherwise you're misleading investors. If they know for a fact the rides aren't opening, which you would think you would have to know at some point, then saying anticipated is misleading.

But they aren't actively saying "anticipated". They said anticipated in Jan, or whenever they wrote this PR. These are not living documents.
