Yep. If this is like any other new product launch, there’s a long tail of pre-planning and coordination related to the announcement, and follow-on hype. At this juncture, I’d presume all the creative assets have been delivered, announcement copy finalized, media buys finalized. As soon as the various preview and opening dates are firm, they’ll pull the pin.
That's what's going on! Marketing is finally learning how to use online streaming platforms so they'll be able to host the world's first online-only opening day!
First you see a livestrean of the dedication and everything—probably with a little entertainment bit involving the gods. Then the livestrean walks you through the queue, you board the front row, and see the Pantheon POV for the first time ever!
Everyone can get the first front row ride on Pantheon's opening day, no matter where in the world they've been quarantined! This is brilliant.
Except the feed will drop out as soon as Larry or Suzie gets up to speak and the park wont notice it until they are done
It's a great idea but, lol, I'm with @ControlsEE ... they can't keep a hardwired stream running longer than 5 minutes. Imagine them trying to accomplish it wireless. ?

Yes @Gavin I saw on the original plans (centuries ago, lol) fiber optic install for that area. I believe most of the new installs are connected to their VOIP system. They may also add onto their CCTV system.

Still newish to the forum, after taking the winter hiatus. Logged on to see what speculation for Pantheon opening was- I have a few questions for the interwebs to percolate.
After receiving trains and track was in place- how long does testing usually last on similar projects? Verbolten?
Passholder preview isn’t the weekend before opening this year, it’s the day before?
This is all to say, could we be looking at Pantheon with a soft open/media day on preview day? Or maybe an announcement on preview day that it would open Sunday?
I am an out of state passholder. I’d be curious to know if opening the Park and pantheon this way would drive revenue as it encourages what has traditionally been one day in the park for passholder to become two days. Probably wishful thinking

Testing length depends a lot on the specific coaster and manufacturer. Comparing one to another isn't really a good measure.
There is almost 0 chance of this being ready for a soft next weekend. The signs are pointing to there still being too much testing left to allow for this.
Also keep in mind that rides control systems use networking to communicate all of the IO that is on the ride. These are typically separate from the larger park wide network to avoid network packet conflicts, but on a larger project like this, fiber would be installed instead of copper for longer runs (ethernet cable is only rated for ~300'), which would probably be needed in this case. I don't believe that they connect their PLCs to a larger network, mainly for security purposes. Can't hack what you can't connect to. Most plants I work in do not connect their PLCs to the main network, but have an isolated network that all of them are connected to with a computer with all the programming software on it, so maintenance doesn't have to connect at the machine.
Just to put thing in perspective Tempesto was testing on pass holder day but didn't open till the end of April.
On the website for the sneak peak under the Town Hall area they said Kevin will be providing a Pantheon update. Could he be announcing the opening date or an actual construction update?
I would bet he will say that they have finished installation and are now in the testing phase and can’t wait for the attraction to open this spring. Without the trains having even ran full circuit yet I doubt they will give a date.
