I, too, hope for a terrain follow thru the trees.

On the plans @Zachary posted, it appears the queue passes under the track just prior to the final brake. They'll be to see much of the launch straightaway and (it appears) the switch track. In the Queue House (unless there's a lot of added landscaping) they'll see the train going up/down the spike.

I didn't see collars in the Parc Astrix video, just lap bars. But leave it to BGW to put a collar on the fun.

I don't know that you would since it is just a CGI representation of the concept, and besides, you made the key point--the park may add them anyway (not for fun, but for the benefit of risk-averse attorneys).

They would just use the old Intamin trains in that case rather than add a vest on. I think that if there are really aggressive, I305 style transitions, then it may have to use the vests. But anyways...

I, personally, think the threat of Comfort Collars is real. They added them completely unnecessarily to Tempesto. If they decide the public needs a false sense of security on a clone of a coaster that had demonstrated success with lap bars, it seems reasonable to me to expect them to ruin a unproven design/layout.

The difference is I dont mind the comfort collar on I305. The collars on Tempesto are horrible

If they decide the public needs a false sense of security on a clone of a coaster that had demonstrated success with lap bars, it seems reasonable to me to expect them to ruin a unproven design/layout.

Like I said, they aren’t gonna just add collars to the Taron style trains. There’s nowhere to add them. They would just use the I305/Maverick style trains if they were that scared about going upside down/sharp transitions with a lap bar.

That being said I doubt it because Tempesto is a really awkward ride, so guests legit would get freaked out with a lap bar, vs something like Madrid which is gonna be fairly low to the ground beside that top hat and first wave turn.

Add mounting points near the tops of the seats and a clip to the lap bar just as SEAS has done with their SkyRocket IIs and... ta da... you have comfort collars on current-gen Intamin launch coaster trains.

I think the park is conscious of the fact that comfort collars on Tempesto were received very negatively by the enthusiast community. I doubt they would taint this addition with them, seeing as the target audience for this addition would be the enthusiast community.

Whereas Tempesto wasn't an addition targeted towards the enthusiast community (since it's something you could get anywhere), I think the comfort collars were to please the general public with how the ride did the slow roll and the stalls, could easily get in someone's head.

I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt here. Please don't let me down Busch.

The "SEAS hates inversions with lap bars" thing definitely isn't irrelevant.

While we can make a pretty good guess as to what restraints RMC Gwazi will have, we don't know for sure yet. Lets not lose sight of the fact that, despite years of backlash, we have a SEAS SkyRocket II opening this year with OSTRs half-heartedly bolted to the train in a park that already has a coaster that inverts with a lap bar. Someone inside SEAS D&E seems pretty damn dedicated to these Comfort Collars.

There's not a single addition at any park that is targeted towards the enthusiast community.

Tempesto received comfort collars because according to SEAS the illusion of safety is important even if it serves little to no purpose otherwise.

This is what has caused me to question whether or not there's an external driver at play here. Are insurance companies possibly charging parks more for rides that invert with OSTRs now? Just an interesting possibility to ponder.

I outlined you that this is a Premier thing purely to not freak guests out. We literally know that SEAS is okay with inverting with lap bars now, and so is Six Flags since the very same year, they’re building Maxx Force Which has lap bars.

As for Madrid that would use an overhead lap bar which may be more comforting than what Tempesto would use.

Until I see the train moving on the track I'm not picking a side on the WCR debate. Premier has made a little more than 1 Sky Rocket model a year on average and outside of SEAS none of them have had comfort collars.

It's also a common practice of parks who build similar rides to try and differentiate the product a little. Just look at the Cedar Fair Hypers/Gigas.

Just for clarity, a "Comfort Collar" is NOT the same thing as a real OTSR, like the straps on i305.

Also, we have no idea whether BGT's RMC will have OTSRs. What we do know is that for whatever reason, unnecessary Comfort Collars have been added to Tempesto, Tigris, and Electric Eel.
