October 4th is press day for Infinity Falls, so I’m guessing they would stay tight lipped to keep the focus on the new attraction.

I think @GrandpaD was referring to the SWO slide in the leak, not necessarily the BGW one, kinda conversely confirming

SWO has a media day October 4. Perhaps they'll confirm the slide for that property so we can see how far off it is from the leak.
Yep. I was saying when they show their stuff FOR THAT PROPERTY we can see if the leaked slide FOR THAT PROPERTY is close to what they announce.

If it wasn't planned.....no you be upfront. This is the same problem I have with their PETA problems. When something like this comes out that you didn't plan on you always get out in front of it. I think sitting back and playing down makes people think they can keep doing this stuff.

If this wasn't planned, it's not hard to make a statement of "It was unplanned, and we will work to ensure it doesn't happen again." It's just my overall problems with SEAS. They react to everything, aren't proactive about a single thing.
I totally disagree. I think the response they provided, planned or not was totally appropriate. If it wasn't planned they are just confirming that they've got some big plans in the future and that everyone should stay tuned for an official announcement.

If you say "it was unplanned, and we will work to ensure it doesn't happen again." that would just alarm investors. The alternative (and what 95% of any other companies out there would do) would be to release a boiler plate response when someone from the press reaches out to you for comment, "It is our company policy not to comment on rumors or speculation. We do not have any announcements regarding new attractions at this time... "

The whole thing feels very very haphazard. The way the 'leak' happened, the RMC Gwazi setup on the BGT announcement that stole the thunder, the lack of a quick response. Like, if you are going to 'leak' this stuff and make it planned, why not ensure that whoever you pick to 'leak' it would also post the slides at the same time? Why not makes sure that the 'source' is someone that these sites could trust?

If SEAS marketing intentionally leaked this, then I'm almost positive that this was intentionally haphazard in order to help confuse the entire situation. It's the MO of the new head of marketing for the company. This isn't the first time that something like this has happened. The person who headed up Invadr's marketing campaign in the same person in charge of the entire chain's marketing now.

So if you are going to 'leak' something on purpose.....why not ensure that it's someone you know will write about it (check on SEAS Part), that they will post everything (fail), and they will put something together to lead to a next step (fail).
There have been multiple times where Cedar Fair's marketing team has intentionally started misinformation campaigns to play with enthusiasts. They know the type of people that will grab on to these things and run with it, picking out every little detail just like you are. For the people it wasn't intended for, they may or may not read the headline and move on.

First if you were intentionally leaking this....wouldn’t you want who’s doing it to actually post the slides and not just the data? And two; too much of that is unsettled or extremely ambiguous in order to really give a great confirmation or clue to anything.
Again, if it was intentional then, I think the way they came out was totally intentional. It grabbed multiple news cycles. By leaking only the data that started everyone talking about it and then by releasing the slides later that got everyone talking about it again.

I think if you really want answers to your questions you're going to have to ask Behind the Thrills and Wild Gravity Travels where the sourced their information. Maybe they all got them from @AmusementLeaks, maybe they all got them from different people. Only they know they know the answer to that.

I think jumping to conclusions about the motives for SEAS response isn't the right response. I think you're reaction is probably due to impatience in knowing who, what, where, when, and how when I think the "leaker" doesn't actually want you to know that information because they're actually having fun with you.

But, that's just my two cents.

@Shane, Fair enough in everything you say to be honest.

To me it just feels like if they were intentionally leaking to stir up something...anything...they ended up creating much more confusion than necessary IMO just by the way it came out. Maybe I’m thinking too much about it, but if I were “intentionally leaking” I’m not sure I would want validity of the information questioned, and then the slide itself, to where you have to come out and say yes they are ours.

TBH I don’t think there’s much to jump to on the motives of their response. Either it was intentional or it wasn’t.

All in all I feel it’s just a strange situation. Never really seen anything like this.

A company never worries about overtalked. What's the worst that could happen? Even more people than expected show up to try the ride? Doesn't matter if the ride itself is a slight disappointment at first, it'll get people through the gates to try it.

I'm leaning on the self-inflicted leak side. I feel that some of the information may be true and what's coming for parks though. Maybe Busch Gardens didn't want the hype for a Giga to be overtalked after the height waiver was discovered and leaked the shuttle coaster design to throw everyone off? That way the public is pleasantly surprised when a Giga is announced?

I see we’ve hit the bargaining phase

Also wow are you all that mad that we’re probably getting an Intamin multi launch lol

I do think the angsty edge would dissipate substantially if the concept art showed a full-circuit ride with a lift hill.

For my own part -- the concept of a shuttle with a spike has more gimmick DNA than I'd hope for from a big new BGW ride.

- "How do you know what DNA it has when we don't even know what it is yet?"
- "It may be a full-circuit ride, so what's your problem?"
- "You can still get plenty of height and speed with a spike. What's wrong with that?"

Okay. Still unswayed.

I think it's because a spike doesn't take the rider to the full height of the structure, and the speeds are notably lower than would otherwise be suggested by the height. Most riders don't get anywhere near the highest point. ...And airtime just isn't the same thing when you're flat on your back or staring directly down at the ground. A lot of what I love most about roller coasters is lost when lifts and long, straight drops and airtime moments start disappearing.

- "How do you know there won't be a ton of airtime?"
- "It'll still be probably the fastest ride at BGW, you idiot."

Yes, I can do math too. It's still not the same. I am a traditionalist, or a very choosy beggar, or both. And more. Surely I am horrible in multiple ways that could be enumerated by a sufficiently motivated anti-naysayer.

None of my whining changes what BGW is getting, but I was really hoping for a ride in the spirit of LNM, Apollo, InvadR, BBW... the sort of attraction I remember as a full experience, not as a string of experiential novelties.

Anyway. I'm wasting everyone's time.

Because we don't need another forward/backward launch with a non-inverting loop right next to Tempesto.
That's like saying you don't need a B&M giga because you have Apollo

It's going to be a different ride experience either way since one is extrmely compact and the other is a full fledged multi launch with laterals and airtime.

Better tell Canada's Wonderland and Hershey otherwise.

I tend to agree it was an intentional "oops, how did that get out? <wink wink>. Close followers of the SEAS parks know they're seeing positives in recent quarters. But this "leak" sends the message to all that SEAS isn't rolling over; that they're going to proactively going to come out from under the Blackfish black cloud and remain competitive.

I've yet to see anyone point out disinformation in the leaks. Confusion, yes. But had anything come to light that disproves the slides? There are no coaster manufacturers, no ride names, etc. The BGT PR guy verbally provided the same hints as the Gwazi slide shows (but only coaster enthusiasts would recognize anyway). We'll wait until October 4 to see if the SWO leaked slide corresponds to their official announcement

At BGW, the only talk about a giga was when we saw approval to build something 315ft tall. People here and other forums figured (and maybe some wishfully so) "it's gotta be a giga". Yet there's really been no other hints, leaks or filings came forth to point in that direction.

If you believe the BGW slide, it looks like Soaring With Dragon..with a big difference - there's no non-inverting loop depicted. I'm betting they don't include it. It has a huge footprint. I'm guessing it goes into the third launch up the top hat, a bit of stall and then 90° drop. I also think it'll have a lot of air and terrain follow.

Now excuse me, Storage Wars is on.

To be fair, I think the majority desire consensus here was more leaning towards a giga from another manufacturer than B&M, since many have used the argument that a B&M giga would be too similar to Apollo's.

I personally was hoping for Intamin.

I mean so far from the leak I see at least 3-4 elements that your giga would have (hills, overbank/stengal)

Good news: You're probably getting an Intamin with cool elements and airtime, just with a backwards launch at the beginning.

As for the B&M giga most people consider Fury is better than I305.

I wasn't expecting the best Giga ever. And who knows, maybe a new Intamin would outdo Fury since Intamin hasn't put out a relevant giga in a while
