General Information:

"Project Drachen Spire," is a community-generated identifier for the Intamin-made, multi-launch, shuttle giga coaster that was originally slated to open at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in 2021. The attraction is planned to utilize the currently-vacant land behind Verbolten, Festhaus Park—the former home of Drachen Fire.

The coaster's main layout—as leaked before the addition was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic—featured two launches, two spikes (one spiral, one vertical-ish), and a couple of banked turns. Drachen Spire was designed to run two trains by means of a pair of switch tracks connecting the primary, shuttle portion of the layout to the station platform.

Who knows, maybe there will be something really cool about it like a DC Rivals trains-seating style, or a spinning element where the trains can switch directions at the top of the spire to face the Earth on the downturn. Something... I dunno.

I think it was Ice that said it somewhere on here, but falling 300 ft backwards just doesn't seem like it provides the same perspective as plummeting towards the ground. That said, even in its original form, I think it checks all the boxes that BGW is looking to check. I could also be totally overestimating what an experience this will be. Let's get some tentative hype! 🤘

It is. But I liked the rollback more for the ability to get that launch feeling a 2nd time. I still preferred coming down seeing the ground approach SO fast.

Ka and TTD are all about those launches for me personally. 😍

I feel like we're getting the rollback and spike perspective from Pantheon though, even if it's on a micro level.

If this does get built it will be really interesting to see what the gp think about it. They might just see it as a taller shorter Pantheon, or it could be one of the most popular rides in the park.

It’s location alone will limit its popularity compared to a more centralized location. It’s hard to say how tall it will seem compared to other rides, and if that will be a draw, but it’s short ride time will be quite apparent.

I bet it is gonna be blue

Just a reminder for everyone: the color scheme leaked. It's at the bottom of this article:

As I'm not too familiar with the layout of Drachen Fire's (now Spire's) field, I don't know this, but do you think that there will be some sort of public path to get over to somewhere near to where the spike will be? If so that would be a really cool spot to watch the coater run.

Nope. Closest even slightly unobstructed views from pathways will be the ride's plaza and the bridge from Oktoberfest to San Marco. Rough map:
