General Information:

"Project Drachen Spire," is a community-generated identifier for the Intamin-made, multi-launch, shuttle giga coaster that was originally slated to open at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in 2021. The attraction is planned to utilize the currently-vacant land behind Verbolten, Festhaus Park—the former home of Drachen Fire.

The coaster's main layout—as leaked before the addition was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic—featured two launches, two spikes (one spiral, one vertical-ish), and a couple of banked turns. Drachen Spire was designed to run two trains by means of a pair of switch tracks connecting the primary, shuttle portion of the layout to the station platform.

This is great! I didn’t join the forum until after that ship had sailed. This saves me a little backtracking in that proposed project. Good work!

I can see where they cut and condensed to get the DS layout from, this looks like an overly large full circuit version. It'd be one thing if there was some extreme airtime hills or inversions in the mix but tbh it looks like the Festa Field side would have been kinda boring.

I think that’s how Pantheon came about after the decision to split it into two projects. Once they had a large portion of DS designed, one needs to make an additional coaster to appeal to guests. Before Pantheon, BGW doesn’t have unique inverted stalls, beyond vertical drops, and outward banked turns. I think after seeing what Intamin was offering with their updated Blitz coasters, it was no question on building one.

If that's really what they were intending I'm not sure it would have really utilized the land very well. That said it looks super fun to me. I don't really do flips that well anymore, so that looks like something i could handle pretty well.

I feel like that tower turnaround if used could have at least been the base for a Zumanjaro-like ride in a new hamlet, but then we're also talking the extra expense of expansion...

Having gotten to see the mockup, I'm getting Xcelerator vibes from this. More elements than a Dragster/Ka, but not much. Except the overgrown Cheetah Hunt tower is a little blah. I'm glad we're getting Pantheon instead of Overgrown Cheetah Hunt Tower on the Festa side.

I take back my dissing of Project Madrid's original form. Overgrown Cheetah Hunt Tower, while still worth losing for Pantheon, would have been a better observation and drop tower than Mach Tower.
I just want to say I like your signature regarding BBW. I was there when BBW first opened and Verbolten is a poor replacement. What we need for Project 2023 is a Vekoma F.L.Y. coaster like at Phantasialand but using a Bavarian village like the original BBW (Even the colors match the original BBW). They could just recycle the old ads since the person looks like he's on a flying coaster.

Not sure whether being the state's first flying coaster would be as big of a marketing draw as being the state's tallest and fastest (Drachen Spire)

Verbolten’s ride experience is a worthy successor to BBW but the building is definitely an eyesore compared to the Bavarian village
