General Information:

"Project Drachen Spire," is a community-generated identifier for the Intamin-made, multi-launch, shuttle giga coaster that was originally slated to open at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in 2021. The attraction is planned to utilize the currently-vacant land behind Verbolten, Festhaus Park—the former home of Drachen Fire.

The coaster's main layout—as leaked before the addition was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic—featured two launches, two spikes (one spiral, one vertical-ish), and a couple of banked turns. Drachen Spire was designed to run two trains by means of a pair of switch tracks connecting the primary, shuttle portion of the layout to the station platform.

I just hope whatever Busch and SEAS comes up with doesn’t look like something that Pantheon could’ve been. Wouldn’t be the best use of a two coaster deal.

No one knows how loud T-Rex will be yet, and a full sand fill would be probably impractical.

I think if Spire happens, it will have front and backwards facing seats or trains or something.
I would hope either the last row is backwards like mack does or one train is forwards and the other backwards. I dont know if i would want to take the chance of someone facing me's spit (intentional or not) flying at my face at 90+mph

Here's the news we've been waiting for! We have an FAA waiver extension! Huge thanks to @Adam for spotting it! ❤

Fingers crossed that in a couple of years we can say that BGW is home to the state’s tallest coaster...

Does this indicate that it's going forward as originally planned, or is there still a chance they are changing it?

There's still totally a chance it could be changed/changing. This basically just tells us that whatever the park is looking to do now is somewhere around Festhaus Park, is 355 feet tall or less, and, barring additional extensions or a cancellation, should break ground by late next year.

Technically an Eggory Deggory replacement is 355 feet tall or less...

It has not changed. The survey work they were doing yesterday was for the same ride we’ve been talking about since 2019.

After messaging back and forth with him, he just cited the same public records we've been following diligently for ages now.

I'm pretty comfortable with my previous analysis. I have yet to see anything to suggest that this is or is not still Drachen Spire as we knew it pre-COVID.

Is it naturally more likely that it will be the previously designed and filed layout? Certainly. That said, there's no proof one way or the other that I've seen.
