General Information:

"Project Drachen Spire," is a community-generated identifier for the Intamin-made, multi-launch, shuttle giga coaster that was originally slated to open at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in 2021. The attraction is planned to utilize the currently-vacant land behind Verbolten, Festhaus Park—the former home of Drachen Fire.

The coaster's main layout—as leaked before the addition was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic—featured two launches, two spikes (one spiral, one vertical-ish), and a couple of banked turns. Drachen Spire was designed to run two trains by means of a pair of switch tracks connecting the primary, shuttle portion of the layout to the station platform.

Looks like it gets awful close to Verbolten. I wouldn't mind it getting axed to make room and save power for this beast. ?

While I've already earned my dislikes, I have to say the brown part looks like a butt.

So doing some quick math it appears the green channel goes through an area that is between 40-50 feet above sea level. With the highest point being 435 feet above sea level (355 feet about ground level which is 80 feet above sea level) that means we could be looking at a drop in the range of 380 feet. ?

Most Giga coasters (outside of I305) are of the “out and back” variety. Even I305 isn’t fully what I would call a “twister” layout. If BGW could pull off a Giga-Twister with a 100+ MPH top speed...we might be talking best coaster period.

That looks like a tunnel.

First.

355 plus 30-40 feet plus tunnel = Strata!

Strata confirmed.

First, do you realize the expense of a below ground tunnel so close to the water table? Aside from building it, you'd have to have sumps running, etc. And I'd think such construction would have been noted as they'd have to get RPA permission... Highly doubtful in both cases.

@Zachary , looking at those "extra footers", I don't think they're left over DF. Looking at this picture, it appears those footers are in the (still) cleared area.

Yes, the two areas are separate and the footers in the first drop are are massive.
