General Information:

"Project Drachen Spire," is a community-generated identifier for the Intamin-made, multi-launch, shuttle giga coaster that was originally slated to open at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in 2021. The attraction is planned to utilize the currently-vacant land behind Verbolten, Festhaus Park—the former home of Drachen Fire.

The coaster's main layout—as leaked before the addition was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic—featured two launches, two spikes (one spiral, one vertical-ish), and a couple of banked turns. Drachen Spire was designed to run two trains by means of a pair of switch tracks connecting the primary, shuttle portion of the layout to the station platform.

Remember guys this plan could be from a very early design of the ride and both the station and the details of the train could be very different now. Just take away from this that a coaster is likely coming and smile until more details come out later.

In any event, for those that saw the plans--how definitive did the train configuration even look?

Definitive to work that if the leak wasn't a scrapped option, that 2x6 will be the configuration.

Would additional cars seemingly work (maybe only half were shown, to, if nothing else, try to obfuscate intent if leaked?)

Very little. @Zachary did a great job of showing what it looked like.

Any examples of something, other than what at least some of us fear, as an operating ride with that train configuration?

Storm Runner and Maverick come to mind right away.

And also we get to constantly remind @Drachenwolf that he was wrong.

Can someone link me to the soil sample tests for this area? If I recall, there was some samples taken in the dirt area between the service road train track crossing and the old food/souvenir stand. If I remember right (I lose my car keys weekly) then perhaps a track turn there with some guest interaction...similar to what Drachen Fire did.

I have to admit it’s kind of odd to imagine BGW adding a Red Force-like attraction. Never did I ever think over the years we would be seeing that of all things at BGW. I like it though.

Obviously you can’t definitively say anything until we see further evidence or proof. But I think this being Intamin is a pretty safe bet considering how closely it has clearly been developed with Pantheon and the previous Madrid project. I would like a TRex or Mack giga more than another Intamin launch here but I’m definitely taking an “Intamin until proven otherwise” approach with my own expectations on this one.
